The album Holy Smoke was a rather mixed bag, but some of the songs on it are corkers: this one and "Dream Gone By" are both show stoppers whilst being very, very personal. At least that's how I always heard them. "Hit Song" was a wonderful closer, about as mainstream as Peter ever got. "Keep Me From Harm" is another wonderful tune. I saw Peter that year at Limelight NYC and it was a stonking show, as always.

Thank you for including this halovox song. This is one of the earliest songs I ever wrote and remains one of my favorites. "Silent Whispers" first appeared on Brand New Idol's album "Still Beautiful Falling Apart". Pretorium produced an epic 9-minute remix that was unfortunately never released. I loved what David Lilja had done and with his kind permission I incorporated his Pretorium tracks and recorded new lead & backing vocals for this version that closed out the debut halovox album.

Thank you very much for including halovox. Hard to believe this was released 20 years ago. This song was the result of an improvised joke in the middle of the first halovox show. One song had ended and there was an unusually long pause and I quipped, "That was called Uncomfortable Silence". Thinking about it later, I thought it would make a good topic for a song. Then came the idea of being with someone and knowing it's over because you have nothing left to say to each other and that led to this sad and dreamy lullaby. There is a light reverb over the entire mix which really helped the atmosphere. This is the only halovox song without any percussion. I just released a new EP this past October called "Scarlet Moon". I hope you'll check it out.

I have the album, but I don't know who they were or are! Post punk/pseudo grunge from this California band. The cover of the album reads: 30 foot whiper, 23705 Vanowen st. #181, West Hills, CA 91307, or fax (818) 888-4918. But the album was released in 1995 and it is unlikely that this address still exists...
