I'm sorry for Todd Bowles. Regardless of injuries, his defense ranked 26 in the NFL. He will not be in this position without Liam Coen. We can get better on defense. It will be criminal if the Galzers let Liam go.

We are in this position because he hired Liam. Liam is also successful because of the players at his disposal. I will add Liam left the NFL to CFB so he could call plays. I don't think he's interested only in becoming a HC. He's interested in the right circumstances. Bowles will retire soon and Liam will inherit a SB caliber team he was a part of building

How refreshing is watching now our receivers get wide open even with average WR's? With Leftwich, every completion was so difficult, even with superstar receivers (ME13, Godwin, Brown and Gronk),

The Cowboys double covered Evans the whole game. The Bucs' other receivers choked away opportunities and Bucky Irving was left on the bench the last half of 4th quarter- Bucs should've scored 40 points in this game.

Listen, Tood Bowles Defense made freaking Cooper Rush in the 1st half like a super start (like always) Bowles made backups QB super stars. Now on the 2nd half the offense, Including BM made a lot of mistakes. BTW Tood Bowles like always horrible with time outs and managing the game.

6 turnovers in 3 games since the bye week and we’re 3-0 because of our defensive minded HC. Defense held on from the 3:52 mark in the 1st qtr to the 8:52 mark in the fourth quarter where the offense generated 0 points. Give them their credit, they gave us 4 qtrs while the offense twiddled their thumbs punting and coughing the ball up.

@ -2 TO margin since the BYE week. 2nd & 3rd stringers throughout and an offense that has put them back on the field 6 times with turnovers the last 3 games. The “lesser” opponents caveat is unnecessary, on offense we struggled to put 28 points up against a team that gives up an average of 27.8 ppg. Chargers are #1 allowing close to 16ppg

It's a tall order to get him over the top but if anyone can help him do it it's Baker. He needs a little less than 100 yards a game to get there. Now, if he can put some big yardage down on easier games it'll make it much easier. For instance, if he gets 150 each on the LV and NO games, he'll only need about 70 yards a game on the other 3 which is easily doable. Liam needs to scheme up some plays to get him some chunk yardage.

I like you guys, and appreciate you doing your breakdowns. However, I don't know what it is with the local "analysts" and this game but you are seem all looking to prove thesis and missing... the actual mechanics of QB play and Coen's scheme and conservative game-planning and how it has stunted the offensive scheming and contributing to how a QB and offense executes. You're looking for "inconsistency" so you're gonna try and find it no matter what contradicts. JQ and Ledyard are attempting something similar and I critiqued their agenda and "analysis," (so far as their (ironic) defensiveness allows). So here goes with you guys (since you posted it publicly and presume you're then open to counter points): Play #1: QB makes the correct read (especially after the increase in INTs due to WR error and schematic issues with diguised coverages in the mid season stretch). This is the correct read due to (a) progression and defensive shell AT THE TIME of the read and what QB is seeing (b) safety is reading QB eyes/hips and is going to leave his assignment and jump coverage if QB does not reset for screen. This can be a feature of the Safety in this C2-Match shell Read progression is TE > RB so appearance of coverage at time of read is most important here.. (c) HC/OC has mandated protecting the ball and opposing DEF are disguising coverages on TB at nearly league high 30% rate. This is the risk-averse Coen offense and QB following coaching and taking the check-down (which you and others have previously critiqued TB's QB over not just taking the "easy throws." You can't have it both ways). If you want to call this conservative or not taking opportunities, at least lay lay out the whole context and consider the alternative, of the QB throwing into a coverage that looked AT THE TIME of the read as being a risky throw (again, of the precise sort we've all critiqued this QB on during the recent stretch of turnovers) Play #2: TE runs muddy route with bad break and what looked to me (on multiple reviews) to the wrong depth (however, none of us can be certain of the correct depth). Still could be a better throw possibly, but TE route being poor here is a factor to weight. Timing on these quick routes is a function of QB throw and placement and receiver route depth, break, and pace. I don't like either here. Mark's argument that you would place the ball farther out is just not how this play is run or allowed by the timing. #3) Pocket and throw are affected at launch point; QB needs to shift (tight angle shows this) to allow for timing of the route to develop and for unaffected launchpoint. For a long developing route the drop and timing requires 3 seconds and a clean pocket (I loved Mark rushing through 3. to 4, haha), which this play does not have. Again, endzone view shows pocket shifting and that the pass is deflected at launch (which is why it "ducks") . There is some potential validity to the idea Mayfield can throw with more anticipation, but, I'm not sure based on read and timing that he can throw that much earlier, and then the extra hitch added by the pocket collapsing. #4) This is a missed throw. I also don't like the route but I put this on QB both live and during my review. In general, add route analysis to your analysis and you see more problems (and therefore more of what is happenijng) The previous drive QB and WR (Shepard) had a seeming miscommunication (on timing/depth) on 3rd down that resulted in a punt, so we're seeing issues here repeatedly (and we rarely ever saw with Godwin who is as tight a route runner as we have in the NFL) #5) Okay, this made me laugh. Yes, amazing plays are not needed if you make every play beforehand, but this just proves my original point: you're setting out trying to prove something and missing contradictory evidence. As well, if you can't appreciate what (as a former QB) looks like one of the rarer plays I've seen in a game, and especially the situation, the players...and are using it to leverage your central "thesis" A Few General Points: The narrative that the oline is playing well is artificially inflated by a sub 2.5 TTT. ESPN pass block win rate is sub 50%. TB ADoT and low TTT are a function of protecting the pass protection. So, ironically, TB has an OC + QB protecting the oline, and not the other way around. Coen is also calling games to protect the QB from the WRs. There were a few better plays in this game to critique the QB this game (you got 1 of them). I do find it amusing in that in a discussion of QB consistency you fail to address the fact there are zero bad throws until :35 remaining in the 2nd quarter, which is 1/3 the number of drops/WR errors in the first half, including two on that same drive! Maybe we should make videos on inconsistency in the WR corp as regards drops, routes, route depth, route running...because fewer of these consistency issues showed when TBs WR #1 and WR#2 receivers run routes. In general, it was a bad game by the entire offense, and especially Coen's gameplan and playcalling, and that didn't help his QB, his WRs, or RBs (who more than the passing game are still not realizing their potential).

@alphabetsend
@alphabetsend Ай бұрын
@@RealBucsTalk I don't expect anyone to be perfect! I might however suggest many of us are looking at the wrong problems on offense, if we're going to spend our limited time in analyzing them, we might better use that time to isolate the structural and schematic issues that are putting QBs, WR, and RBs in positions to succeed or fail. When your QB is top 3 in the NFL in completion percentage, and in a game with 4 drops/errors that dropped that from 22/29 (78%) to 18/29 (65%) I think, from a more realistic perspective its fair to say they are hitting the throws at a reasonable rate (despite having no WR1-3). Would I liked to have seen him hit all of the throws? Yes, I would, especially with the kinds of throws Coen is asking. However, I'd much prefer to look at the issues on why we're getting miscommunications, and drops, or requiring third down & longs so often? Or, why I'm seeing bunched routes and traffic? Or why the offense is being called like we have a porous oline? Do we? PFF and some say no, but other more quantitative metrics say yes? So many bigger problems with just the offense than a QB who is avoiding risky throws, when he accrued 7 in three games.
