This always interested me. Is it true if you make use of a flash storage medium (SD, stick) in the meantime, even without to change anything the files, it's even longer readable, since the microcurrents responsible for holding data gets "refreshed" every time you insert it into your PC? It sounds logic at least, somehow. I think USB thumbdrives are able to hold data longer than SD cards (my explaination would be bc it's slightly bigger sized, it's easier to keep the electrons stay trapped), and just like most of the time, the products quality and reliability depends heavily on the brand. I've heard about 30 years (without using it for this time it in any way) data storage shoud be possible for SD cards, and an even longer time for USB sticks. The most important thing is how you take care and handle your storage media and devices. Use cases, avoid too high or low temperatures, shocks/vibrations, high huminity and other physical damages.

I believe that I have the exact same problem on my Troy Built TB230 self propelled Briggs and Stratton small motor. I changed the oil and went to start it and putff it blew smoke out of the exhaust. I honestly believe that I didn't have the motor at T.D.C. Top Dead Center. Oil started getting into the exhaust tube and carburetor dripping onto the body/frame. I tried everything, removing the carburetor and fuel tank and cleaned, new spark plug and bought a ignition coil/spark tester, lawnmower has spark and great compression. Not having the motor at Top Dead Center will let oil pass, I believe that oil passed and needed a place to go, It blew the head gasket. I'm going to find out very soon. Then i saw this video and what you said about making sure the black connector cover was put on right was the first time I EVER HEARD OR SEEN ANYBODY point that out!!!!!! So grateful!!!! that black connector cover was the issue he was putting it on but wasnt making sure thise two little notches was aligned correctly!!!! once he went back in and did exactly how you explained the car started up!!!!! A hefty chunk of carbon buildup got knocked loose while pushing the engine hard, it then got compressed between the piston and the electrode. This or foreign material in the cylinder got either ingested in the intake or dropped from the plug hole while swapping the plugs.

Wrong spark plug. It's sitting too deep into cylinder.
