Is it normal that 90% of the yarn ends up in the brush?

Gonna make my doll eyes glow in the dark and invite a highly active spirit into it. No one will ever try to visit or sleep over again! Evil spiritual schemes aside, this was an amazing informative video!

I've been using alcohol markers for a while, but I never really know how it's going to end up until after the resin is on and cured because the resin can make the alcohol ink pool. I will say, It gives a really nice almost organic feel but it's much more hit and miss with which ones turn out useable.

Does anyone know if you use plastacine clay inside resin eyes like this...does it get melty or weird and messed up if you bake it into a polymer sculpture in the oven? I love the effect that the plastacine clay lends to the eyes, but I know plastacine is oil based and never really dries...so I makes me wonder if baking it in the oven would make a mess ...or if the resin perserves it in place pretty much forever once its encased? trying to decide if it would be better to just use more polymer clay...but plastacine clay is so cheap and soft and easy to squish in . :)

Great job! I have a couple ideas for making doll lashes, rather than using strip lashes that we wear, and this tutorial helps me a lot!

Can the UV lamp be the same as a nail curing one? Also, is it totally risk-free to handle an UV lamp?
@GMart3D Жыл бұрын
Yes you may use a nail curing one, the one I used is exactly that. However not every lamp works, it really depends on the resin you are going to use. I used a LED nail lamp and it did not cure the resin so I had to invest in a UV one. As long as the UV lamp is used properly and according to the instructions I think it is safe.

Most PVA glues work as long as you don't apply too many coats. Lately I'm using 1 thick up to 2 coats.

Any advice on not getting bubbles? I tried to follow this general process and the eyes have so many bubbles it looks like I sprinkled chunky glitter in....
@GMart3D2 жыл бұрын
If you can leave them in a dark warm place for 15-30 minutes so the resin doesn't harder from the light and if there are still some bubbles after that pop them with the lighter. I sometimes move the bubbles around with a needle to help them come closer to the surface.
