With all talk talking. The inside of the tree is dead wood. The direction the tree falls is determined by the sap wood. The outer living part of the tree All though the hinge is important leaving more sap wood on one side of the tree left or right will pull it in the desired direction. I mean the higher you climb the faster that block comes down, doesn’t matter how much it weighs still enough to do some damage lol

Jed without any eye protection, probably ate so much sawdust over the years that he is now legally considered a tree. Thats real experience.

So everything I've ever been told about felling trees, basically all say to move well and trully away from the log as it's falling. But i noticed that in his first demonstration, when he fell the tree he basically stood next to the trunk at just over an arm's length away. He couldve almost hav just rested his hand on the trunk for the whole time it fell. Am I missing something here? Or are they just a bit cowboy?

What will happen now to that big hole left in the base of the tree? Will it be filled in to prevent small people or animals falling down into the hole.

Been watching yours and a few others, and you who know what you're doing are saying the same stuff -- but I just can't get it to work! Hours spent to try to get the chain sharp, and half the time I end up with it more dull than when I started. I'm going to have to keep trying...

Had a husky with primer ball for 17 years. Hasn't cracked out yet. Reason it's clear is so you know it's primed when you see gas in it.

I always felt a stiffer saw with a thicker foam wrapped handle (Bicycle tape) is better than having those soft bushings to handle vibration.

I still watch you today. Because I have to prune the trees myself at home. I have gained knowledge from you and have been following your channel for a long time. Thank you very much for the Thai subtitles. (From Thailand)

I first watched this video several years ago, shortly after you made it, & had saved it under a playlist titled "Well Said", because it was so SO GOOD & I knew I'd want to find it again to watch & share! Your level of understanding of physics, geometry, the nature of trees, & just your overall professional expertise, is truly impressive! I was blown away to watch this again today, 4 years after the first time! Thanks so much for sharing this, & for being so unbelievably GREAT at what you do. One of the great services of having posted this video is that the watcher would have to be an absolute fool to think that cutting a tree down is pretty straight forward & no big deal. It also makes one cognizant of the need to hire TRUE knowledgeable professionals, & not just a local "jack of all trades" who "says" cutting trees is one of his skills. Bravo, gentleman... much respect! Please be safe & God bless😇 you all! [11.17.2024]

I've learned MORE absolutely fantastic & useful information from this ONE VIDEO than I learned in an entire (one year!) Canadian Logging coarse and 25+ years of felling trees in the Finnish forests! An American expatriate thanks you VERY kindly!🪚🌲🌲🌲🪚... and a very Merry Christmas 🎆🎄& Happy New Year 2025 to you all!🤓👍👍

Thanks for making this. I’m new to this world trying to clear off 2 acres to grow cherry trees. The smaller trees I’ve gotten decently comfortable. But I see how much I really didn’t know. Like avoiding the ditch cut and making sure the 45 degrees cut. I have some trees that are even bigger than these. I’m scared lol. But not as scared as before.

Love you guys! So professional. Y'all have awesome teaching skills. Ive only been felling for 2 years and i dont do it often. I ALWAYS mess my face cut up. I don't understand how to go even on both sides while only looking at the saw side. But with this video you taught me that it better to cut short then clean up. Makes sense. Can't wait to cut again. Thank you fellas

Emissions equipment on chainsaws?!?! If 2 stroke chainsaw motors are causing unwanted atmospheric changes...your planet has bigger problems than the exhaust produced by small I.C.E. engines.
