The steam deck is so much better. People need to realize that specs are not the most important part of gaming. The OLED screen is better, the track pads are better, steam OS is better, the sleep function is better

Really struggling to decide which one. The Pros and Cons for each are considerable. I really like the quick resume functions and console like features of the SD but i also don't want games to struggle making the experience unenjoyable. I like to play games like RDR2 and even Baulder's Gate 3. From what I've seen the SD does struggle with a few newer titles like Space Marines 2 but I never jump on those AAA right away but I may play Hogwarts or Jedi Survivor. Tough decisions and right now, the Ally X is $100 off at Best Buy making it close in price to the SD OLED.

I had one of worst experiences with this game today and lost to a loser who kept spamming perception and taunted the whole game and had the audacity to respond on psn messages with “GG” I deadass deleted my save file and the game fuck that shit man.

perception is not that hard to countertbh . the only 'cheesy' things are ki spam broly + ultimate and some little ki blasts spam techniques.And maybe Kefla(its blockable but if enemykefla know how to play RIP) other things like insta sparkin is just annyoing.

Yeaaah I always play Android 17 (dbs) and got annoyed how I kept losing my rank cause I either fought a cheese character or a ragequitter. So I thought hey let's see how broken gogeta ssj4 is. I tried it yesterday for the first time ever since the game released and only got wins for two ranks. I tried the same thing with MUI goku and got the same result btw. I got disgusted by it. Seriously hated it. I got back to fighting cheesy people with 17, only to get mad at it. I think I'm gonna stay in that damn A rank until I learn how to dominate cheesy strats. I ain't gonna change my main just to get higher.

I main 17 he's good as fuck I'm like A5, I keep hitting A5 but get knocked to b 12345 whatever because I get whipped by cheese I'm tryna learn to whop em but sometimes you just flat out get hoed, 17 goes crazy though don't give up on him I'm tryna get my defense up and learn when I can block what because I get overwhelmed easily sometimes

@Brandon-no5ut I'm exactly in the same case an A5 getting hit by cheese and ragequitters. I think my defense and combo is actually good by I get fooled all the time by wild sense so people just do that then their super... wild sense is more annoying to me than afterimage. I can't always keep an eye on their skill point and I don't react that fast on it. I think people are able to counter wild sense only cause they know the enemy got it so they preshot the vanish. Hey do you play on console btw ?

@the10creative-blinis46 hey sorry I'm just seeing this now I got no notification for it, anytime I see that I have a whole lot more points than the opponent I assume they have wild sense active, or if I see a flash of the stock meter out the corner of my eye What I do incase of wild sense is attack with square once, then vanish to the side and you'll end up behind them if they do have wild sense activated, so it's square once then circle to the side to evade the wild sense

The reason people test the Rog at 15W is to see the performance per watt difference. Being a handheld you want battery efficiency, which the steam deck does win. Being able to low to 2w is great for indie games. Also Steam OS is very different to big picture mode. It's different and more efficient code. Some features in big picture mode don't always work due to windows, windows is a poor RAM handler, hence why memory leak is killer on Windows and it's Game Optimization can bork a lot of big picture modes functions. Plus the booting right into steamOS is way more seamless that big picture. There is a huge latency when running windows in the background then big picture. Running 2 separate layers. Steam OS has 2 OS levels, it will boot into it's default game which is itself the OS and UI giving a higher degree of control. Then you can chose to reboot into desktop mode which is a conventional OS. Essentially SteamOS is a hybridOS having 2 separate instances that don't run side by side it's highly efficient. That being said, the steam deck desperately needs more powerful hardware and definitely more RAM

All of this gets negated simply because the Ally X is powerful enough go do ALL OF THAT and keep better battery life. Steam OS is Steam Big Picture Mode. Full stop. Seriously. Nothing is going on in big picture mode that requires that many resources to begin with let alone cause issue for games. It's just a launcher. Idk why people keep dragging that it does a lot when it doesn't. Steam OS is not unique nor does it do anything that can't be done on windows AND THEN SOME because the deck hardware is so weak in comparison. The deck would bottle neck EVEN MORE than it's already doing if you were even to attempt to run half of the processes the X can do. Performance matters. Imagine having all those processes going on and still getting 100+ frames while the deck struggles to get even a consistent 50 with NOTHING going on but the game itself. Explain that.

best of both worlds, install bazzite on a full size 2280 4tb SSD, and you get Steam Deck on an Ally X. All of the functionality, suspend, battery life, quick start, settings, presets, and vulkan preloading of shaders to smooth out the FPS. If you want Frame Generation, GamePass, run EAC/Denuvo games, swap back to windows with the volume up key on reboot. Bazzite, decky, hhd, handles all the TDP, fans, res, game patching, etc in the menus, and also adds EmuDeck for loading 'other' games. You then have all of the speed, advantages and none of the tradeoffs except for the boot time.

Hmmm I find interesting most of your points and I’m using it to decide for which to go (agreeing on siding with the ally so far) but there is one thing that needs to be clarified: SteamOS is an OS. Big picture is an app. This means, big picture depends on the resources windows (in this case) can give to it. I get your point, which is that at the end they look the same… but most likely people would feel it more fluid on the SteamOS

That's the thing. The Ally is THAT much more powerful than the Steamdeck that even when it's more resource intensive it DOESN'T MATTER. Has more processes going on yet out lasts the steamdeck in battrry life, has more processes going on yet generates TRIPLE the frames. It's out performing the steamdeck by a LONG SHOT even with all the "extra" going on.
