Your description was very accurate. I was there Nov 2023 and just booked another week for Nov 2024. Food was okay. Rooms were clean however no hot water the entire week I was there. I hope it's "fixed" for my return. The people are all on vacation mode and friendly all the time. No issues at all with anyone. One small mention is tipping.....they really appreciate it. You can take loonies($1CA)...just trade them for paper bills after a few days and recirculate your loonies again. American money is not required for tips. Bring an extra beach towel. All the usual medicines and toiletries.And lastly you can never go wrong with the grilled sandwiches served at the pool area bar :) Oh and throw a few rolls of TP in your luggage just in case....and a can of OFF for the mosquitoes at night and sand flies at the beach.

Great video. Going to Cape Town in March. Would you recommwnd staying in Camps Bay or somewhere closer to citycentre like Seapoint or Greenpoint? We love hiking and want to be able to walk to ocean and for dinner if possible.
@HenrySetGoАй бұрын
Thanks! I don’t think you can go wrong with Camps Bay for that. I only spent a bit of time at Sea Point and Green Point and didn’t find them nearly as interesting. Have a great trip!

@@HenrySetGo thank you! And one more question. Did you feel the need to rent a car when staying in Camps Bay or better to take ubers everywhere. We will rent a car for garden route and when we stay in Franshhoek for 4 days but would love it if car is not needed for our 7 days in Cape Town.
@HenrySetGoАй бұрын
I wouldn’t get a car to get around Cape Town itself. I found it really easy to get around with Ubers.

Commie pinkwashing in one of the most repressive authoritarian regimes in the Western hemisphere for attracting champagne socialists the world over. All while the citizens continue to starve and scrounge for every last grain of rice. How amusingly ironic that even the Fidelistas can't resist those 🏳🌈💲

You could have booked a cheaper hotel, when I was looking the xox hotel in the centre was 200 AUD. I've never connected with Amsterdam. I go for the art then get out. Heading for the art again in November but staying in Haarlem.

Thank you for sharing and especially for your honesty. I have been to that resort twice and am going back again next week. I can deal with just about anything, shortage of food, booze, etc....I bring my own supplies 🙂 The one thing I hope they finally settled is the hot water issue....14 days with no hot water was kinda harsh.

How come flights are not included

The price I mentioned through Sunwing included the flight, as well as transportation from the airport.

Excursions aside, Is it easy to get a ride back to the RIU after visiting the Malecon, etc. Or are drivers reluctant to take the business as it's rather far away?
@HenrySetGo2 ай бұрын
It shouldn't be a challenge getting a ride - there are open-air/covered taxis, regular taxis, and I think Ubers run there too. It's a bit further away, but I don't think far enough that drivers would turn down the fare.

Did you arrive to the CCC airport or The CMV? And how long did it take you to get to the resort
@HenrySetGo4 ай бұрын
We got in at the CCC (Jardines del Rey). It took around 45 minutes to get to the resort - because the Gran Muthu Rainbow is one of the furthest ones west, we had to make 2 or 3 stops along the way to drop people off before we arrived.

I'll do my best: 1) Pretty much any, and I think so(?). 2) No. 3) Yes, there are two beaches on-resort, one that doesn't allow swimming (it's too rocky) and another with canabas. 4) There are definitely vegetarian dishes, but the food selection is limited overall.

Clarence drive and Chapmans Peak is NOT THE GARDEN ROUTE! It is part of CAPE TOWN. Get your facts right please. ONLY once you are at Plettenberg Bay you are there...
@HenrySetGo6 ай бұрын
I never said it was. I mentioned the general area the Garden Route covered, and described the road trip in order to get there. Here's the transcript, or watch it again :) “Now, technically, the Garden Route is generally considered to be the 300 kilometres stretch of coast, starting from Mossel Bay in the West to Port Elizabeth in the East. But because we needed to rent a car from Cape Town in order to get there, make a few stops along the way, and return to Cape Town once we were done, our whole Garden Route road trip ended up being closer to about 1200 kilometres in the end. I can’t go over everything about the Garden Route, but here are a few of my highlights, and some things I think you should keep in mind if you go. The first part of our road trip leaving Cape Town was going for a drive through the stunning coastal highway of Chapman’s Peak.”

I really liked it ,it feels like you got your info from the locals not just tour guides. Also love that you visited the smaller towns. You really get a feel for SA and the people there. Cape Town is a great city. But sometimes you will sit in a restaurant and there are no South Africans dining there.
