Thgis is a very great lperformance in the authentic Manhattan style, along with the classic Lewenthal & Danon recording.

I feel the biggest challenge in Southeast Asian classical music, is to create repertoire that is accessible, economically and logistically viable to be performed. There is also the urgency to shift our paradigm away from Eurocentrism in SE Asian musical language, yet at the same time do not deny the role of European age of enlightenment in our contemporary culture as a global citizen. I truly hope to see new reproduceable works, particularly opera in SE Asia. We are also being challenged with the reality of actively declining government sponsorship of arts in western nations which will affect the future of classical music as a whole. Is there still a future in big orchestra-s, aside from the national levels? There are a lot of problems to be solved, but we should also look into the welfare of musicians in Southeast Asia, of whether it is possible for artists to make a living without having to resort to just teaching and quasi-voluntary work in financially unsustainable orchestra companies.

Overall, Not bad. When does louder equal faster and softer equal slower? Tempi and intonation: All over the place. The piano looks big but sound small.

I need to know what is the opening music in the first 30 seconds? Is it just part of the Sinfonia Concertante slowed down? It sounds amazing

This is really quite good. The tempi in places were too fast were they to be played in Gloucester Cathedral’s acoustic (I have heard it there) where it was first performed, but work very well in this concert hall. Considering these performers are probably brand new to this piece the orchestra came together as though they were very familiar with the piece and Vaughan Williams’ idiom in performance. The viola solos had depth in tone, and the principal violist deserves praise.

Bravo, the amount of work it takes to play this piece at a level like this, 99% of the humans on earth will not understand or even come close.
