I had cataract surgery in my left eye several years ago. I had astigmatism so a toric lens was used. It left me quite nearsighted in my left eye. I have a cataract developing in my right eye so trying to decide what lens to use for that eye. My left eye is my dominant eye. Everything I have read suggests it is best to set your dominant eye for distance and non-dominant eye for near vision. Considering PRK for left eye to switch to distance. How important do you think it is to have good distance in dominant eye/near for non-dominant, versus the opposite which I would have if I don't have PRK in left eye. (My ophthalmologist is recommending LAL for right eye assuming I leave left eye as is to give me good distance vision without glasses.) Thanks

Good explanation….but Doc…you have another a problem…puffy eyes…fluid retention…. an Insulin resistance problem…or most likely a potassium deficiency. …

What is Toric Lens? Is this best to address astigmatism? What brands that you have mentioned is a toric lens?

What about Dextenza? I was told by someone who had cataract surgery that his surgeon offered this medicine plug in eye pocket 9:52 9:52 as a more manageable way to medicate and treat eyes after surgery.

Just a question out of medical curiosity "What was the main reason to leave implanting mainly diffractive multi focal IOL and switch to the clearview-3 on such a scale? "
@ShannonWongMD
@ShannonWongMD 2 күн бұрын
The Clearview 3 seems to deliver overall more consistent clear vision with less night time artifacts than the diffractive multifocal lenses.

Hello Doctor, I had over a 100 black dots following my cataract surgery last year. They gradually disappeared. It's been 9 months and I still see a dot or 2 indoors. Why did I get dots? What can be done to prevent dots in my other eye? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

With age many of us find that we need a lot more light to see well. I believed this is a very common problem. Suggestion: how about a video comparing the light transmissibility (how much light can pass through) of each off these popular lenses? I've seen many of your videos comparing many attributed related to focusing near, far and mid, and also halos, but have not seen a video comparing light transmissibility.

The Clearview-3 looks like a great IOL. I have done research. What I struggle to understand is: This IOL was launched in 2012 in Europe. As per now, I only found one clinic in EU who offers it, and it is classified as a "special IOL" they don't even have it in their inventory. Must find out why Europe stopped using this, they prefer trifocals. I fear the reason may be something the US will find out later, bit I hope not! I have checked with more than 100 clinics in EU. Any ideas anyone?

Hi from Turkey. I am 29 years old. I have been using eyeglasses since my childhood due to high level of myopia -10. I went through vitrectomy due to retinal detachment on my right eye 8 years ago. I realized something was wrong but it was too late. I can say that I lost my vision to some extent. I have cataract on my right eye as well. And minimal cataract on my left eye. What would be the best lens or solution for me? Regards

I had like 4 migraine with aura around 15 months ago but then no more untill around a month ago i got another . I then started noticing alot of floaters not sure if theve been there before but i doubt it seemed like a onset of them , got my eyes dialated today and checked was told my eyes are fine 3d scan of eyes showed me my macula optic nerve and retina. Done some other test on me too for migraines and was satisfied nothing to do with my eyes

Dr. Wong just placed a Clearview 3 in my left eye a few days ago. I traveled from Oregon to Texas to have the procedure. Austin Eye was worth the trip. The staff and facilities are excellent and everything has been as expected. My vision is clearing daily and I expect I'll soon be able to report similar outcomes to those of the patients in the videos. So far it looks good.

Hi Dr, thanks for sharing this awesome video. I had the panoptix lens on my left eye a year ago, and LAL lens (distance) on right eye this year. The left eye with panoptix was fine for the first 3 months until a yag was preformed, but then a month later after the second yag, my distance vision gotten blurry (worst than ever). My close up vision is still good 20/20. Is it risky to do the IOL exchange after 2 years later or do you think it can be done? I already had two YAG's preformed on the left eye and not sure if the PCO/bag can hold IOL? Or should I leave it as is since I still have good reading vision with panoptix and great distance vision with the LAL lens on the right eye?
