BTW, for those who are not part of Maverick, I've been (slowly) going through their educational materials as I learn more about myself and my strengths and weaknesses and develop a trading plan that has a high probability of success. They are detailed, extensive and well-researched. I recommend Maverick highly.

Rob, the reason people say the economy is bad is because the numbers are manipulated. You can't say inflation is y/y at the numbers they've been giving because the numbers exclude so many things consumers have to pay for. That said, I look to the charts to tell me where to buy and sell because it's what people who trade and invest believe that drives the markets. But I don't have any illusions that the economy is strong or not bad. Watch for a big correction when people finally wake up. Look back to 2001 and 2008 and what happened after rate cuts. Position size and position management are always important. In early 2008, Fed said they didn't see a recession on the horizon. So at year later, "oh yeah, we've been in a recession this whole time."

The more I trade on my small/active accounts, the more the market moves against me. It feels like everything I do is wrong and I always lose money, even with tight risk management. Props to you guys for being able to do it consistently, and make a profitable career out of it

Agree with your comments on the economy. The economy is strong enough but I will never completely lose my concern of the massive federal debt. I realize iit's not hurting the economy, or markets, yet.
