My sincerest condolences on the loss of your family. I grew up around a serial group of drunk drivers who occasionally were caught, but prior to the stiffer penalties that are being implemented today. I don’t believe that the penalties are harsh enough; especially for continuous DUI arrests. I feel that DUI manslaughter is an offense to the victims families, and should be considered Murder in the Second Degree. It may not be premeditated, but circumstances allowed the crime to occur. I wasn’t aware that the technology to prevent such incidents existed, but I applaud your tenacity in fighting for justice for your family.

So sad so many lives lost by someone else's choice. I would like to know why organizations don't push the government to put PSA and vivid photos of the effects of alcohol on alcoholic beverages like they do cigarettes instead they choose to make it more accessible

Larry Mohoney caused this Crash! He served his time in Prison. The people that died cannot come back! Mohoney, you live today, but the Memories and the Angels are looking at you! Remorse! I know he didn't mean to kill them! He was Drunk! That doesn't bring back the Dead!💔✝️

No auto manufacturer will pull the trigger on implementing these technologies because of lobbyists and the (Bill of too many rights).

I am currently moving to New Hampshire and we just passed by the sign that’s on the side of the road with the date on it and so I looked it up and I saw this video and here. I am driving across the United States crying. I’m surprised I never knew about it before it’s so devastating but I appreciate him being able to talk about his story, and the memories of those children alive

What a strong woman. She is a fighter, and she is a survivor. I can't believe that the man who hit her says he didn't do anything wrong, and that he wasn't held responsible for her medical bills.

16 years after this family's horrible tragedy drivers under the influence are still killing innocent people and inflicting unimagineable pain on families and friends. Our daughter was recently killed by a driver who had several DUI's and a suspended license, driving drunk going wrong way on a freeway in California. Our hearts go out to Sharon as we sadly share the sorrow. The laws don't do anything if judges and prosecutors don't do their job. If you are watching this video and reading this comment please help push for stricter laws and no leniency for those who choose to drive drunk and to anyone who enables them.

Unbelievable but thank goodness you survived and are making the best of your life. I cannot imagine not being perpetually angry and bitter but you seem to have a positive view about life. Best for your future.

Tech in cars should be used but laws should include impounding vehicles on first offense, jail time and also ankle monitors, anything to stop evil people from killing our loved ones. It's outrageous. Deepest condolences and blessings to this family.

DUI should be one and done with car impound and no license and jail. No leniency. Our 38 year old daughter killed by maniac on suspended license after multiple DUI going wrong way in I5 North of Sacramento CA. The story of Andrew is tragic and I feel their pain.

These deaths would all be avoided if people simply didn't drink alcohol. Just because it's available and culturally acceptable, doesn't mean you need to partake.

but people will. we should have better options to avoid driving drunk. in one city I went to, they had a bus that was free during evening hours and picked up all around the main downtown city to help get people home. in some other countries you can also hire people who essentially drive your car home for you.

The only solution is progress. We need to replace manual drivers with autonomous cars, otherwise this will keep happening.

There are too many of these stories. Watch any police body cam video. Drunks get 0 time in jail. I’ve lost my child this way too. I’m so so sorry. I hope this family is doing better now 🙏🏻 If Trump gets elected maybe we will have a champion in the White House in this issue. He’s very anti-alcohol

I tell people all the time my story and it starts with Carrollton bus crash like I said, my cousins were on that bus, the bus driver was my uncle prayers go out to the family that are still grieving like me that can’t get over the Carrollton bus crash will never get over it. There is not a day that don’t go by that I think about it, but I’m glad that you are doing something positive, and thank you for that

I beleive we citizens have the power in numbers to get these laws changed from a misdemeanor to a felony for attempted murder with the use of a lethal weapon their car by flooding our state reps emails demanding these laws change to protect innocent citizens and their families from these drunks. Why has this been going on for years and we've not organized to get these lawmakers to do what's right by the people. Someone please respond and let's get off our lazy butts and get these laws changed now
