Its not the pacers that creats the big groups, its all the people that wants to be paced. And yes it creates problems in the water stations, so stay in front of them or far behind if you can run yout own race and keep you own pace. But he pacers are very good at keeping the pace. And yes I am a former pacer.

Marathons are just the best!!!!!!. Congrats to us Class of 24. #LONDONE. It was a beautiful beautiful day. It was my second marathon in one week right after Rotterdam cuz you never say no to London 😅. I didn't get in for the lottery this year 😐... I hope I'll get to be a PACER 🤞🏾... It was good to see the marathon again and I'll keep watching these all over KZbin cuz I'm rightfully obsessed. Good luck and keep inspiring us.

Great video. I did London as well for the first time. Was aiming to finally get sub-4 after my previous attempts over the years in Brighton and Manchester. The crowds and volunteers are amazing, and really get you in the mood and a burst of energy. I managed to get 3:36 - everything went to plan. I had a lump in my throat when I saw my partner just before mile 25 and we both realised we were finally going to get sub 4. I got another lump when I saw the finish line on The Mall and was screaming "I'm going to do it" and getting the crowds to cheer even louder. Great day, great race, great occasion.

That's amazing, what an achievement, congratulations! 3:36 is some serious speeds and well under 4! The volunteers and crowds were really something special!

I'm on the same journey. The variation in runs does keep it interesting, but that does means there will be some you prefer and some you don't. Accept it, and power through it. Easy to say, I know, but that's the mental battle of marathon training. If you don't enjoy it at the time, make sure to look back on it with a sense or pride and achievement after. You can do it. Believe in your plan, but more importantly believe in yourself. Be kind to yourself and embrace the journey. 👍

Thank you. Which types of speed runs have you enjoyed? I’m definitely looking for more ideas of what to try next.

@@BeenThereRunThat My plan mixes up run types through the week, but strangely I do enjoy the sprints or anaerobic sessions. 10 minutes warm up, 8 - 10 reps of 15 second to 1 minute fast run with 2 - 3 minutes rest between, 10 minute cool down. Seems strange to be trying to run fast rather than far, but it does break up the training week nicely.

i always hated intervals, tempo runs are way more enjoyable :'D

Good luck on your journey. Everything gets easier quickly if you stick at it. Oh hang on, I’ve stuck at for 45 years and it’s no easier 🤣. You’ll get quicker though. Just take it slowly and don’t injure yourself going too hard. If I had my time again I’d do strength and conditioning at least twice a week religiously. Good luck with running and you tubing.

🤣 thank you, it’s very hard to force myself to do any strength work. I’ve been thinking about working more on mobility, but even that seems a stretch!
