A pretty good and simple way of identifying a genuine brown recluse (a.k.a.fiddleback) from ones that look very similar is that it has only 6 eyes rather than the typical 8. From more than a few inches away they look like they have just 3 big eyes because each pair practically touches each other. They are arranged almost like the eye and nose holes on a human skull or at least that’s how it looks to me. Looks like their kind of web too. The more dense part of the web around the upper right of your cameras focus is her egg sac, ready to churn out a whole bunch of them! Lucky for you to find both those nests when you did. Might be a good idea to regularly spray an appropriate pesticide in the place you stored your chair. If the other definitely was a black widow, that spot already has 2 of the 3 spiders in North America with the most dangerous venom!

Wow that bullet does what it says. Says 3.5 high @ 100 gives dead on at 200. You popped it first shot right on and fantastic power and damage. I will grab some of these for sure. Great video.

Great video. I wonder what the 110 grain bullets would do. 300BO using bullets designed for 308 or 3006 suffer.

I don't know as I've seen the 110 TAC-TX at 200yds into gel. I'd like to see it...I kind of wonder at that range how much penetration you'll see with that light of a projectile expanding as much as they do. And that says nothing of hitting bone. I run those at 2200FPS out of an 8.5" barrel, even at 100yds I'd be leery the light projectile won't be going fast enough to penetrate well. FWIW, as someone else mentioned it, I'm sure these bullets tested are designed for 300BO, these aren't handloads.

You also my find you have to get different rings as well... (height of rings will determine bolt lift issues ??) I had to install a higher ring because the bolt lift would hit the scope ..FYI.

Well done my friend. Thank you for doing this. Demonstration of the limitations of the 300 BO. It isn't the best option for deer out to 200 IMO. I am not sure we can be confident that these bullets will perform in an animal like they do in gel. Will they consistently tumble in the animal like they do in gel to produce these impressive damage paths? I am not sure. If a hunter puts one of these in the right place you may have a clean harvest. But after hunting deer for over 30 years with many, many tools and power types and projectile types(including archery) I have witnessed good hits not always produce clean harvests. We have lost very few animals but we have had to work much harder than necessary to retrieve animals that were hit really pretty well. At times this was due to poor performance of the projectile. We appreciate the time, energy, resources and thought invested in this test. All the best and happy New Year.

Another good, honest review. 300 would be my choice 99 times out of 100 for whitetail, esp if the expected shot was within 150 yards. I'm a big fan of the Fusion line in general and have two boxes for 300 Blackout but haven't used any yet. The lighter offerings such as the 125 gr SST and 110 gr TSX would be top choices. I haven't taken a deer with the TSX but I'd give it a hard look, esp for good performance past 200 yards.
@czguy304529 күн бұрын
Another great video. This is definitely my #1 choice for whitetail out of a 223. Your other cup and core tests show they are obviously capable but I think that with a potential encounter with bone... I'd prefer a bonded bullet in such a marginal caliber. Honestly, I think a lot of those 'Nothing smaller than a 300 Win Mag can take a 80lb whitetail' guys should watch some of these videos. I'm more of a 7mm-08, 270 Win, 6mm Creed, 6.5 Creed, 243 guy but yeah... 223 will definitely get the job done. I'd just caution newer hunters to practice, not rush the shot and try for a close to ideal angle. With any caliber, but esp the more marginal cartridges.

Definitely expect slower expansion, slightly less expansion and more penetration at longer distances. Often the expanded wound cavity will be larger in diameter when the bullet takes longer to expand. My take is that the entrance area immediately before the expansion starts when it is closer to the end of the block allows some gas to exit through that initial hole while when the expansion starts further into the block, that entrance hole is better sealed so when the expansion starts deeper into the block, the diameter of the wound is often less impressive in length, but is wider. Another good vid.

Those Heritage Revolvers are fun👊 I see them on special for $99 all the time, if it is one I do not yet have, I usually pick it up, I have 3 different barrel lengths thus far. My favorite so far is the 3" Barkeep, it likes the magnums the most.🫡 🎅🎅Merry Christmas🎄🎄

Great test for both, impressive, Federal Fusion bonding process is superior, great shock, expansion, penetration and high weight retention. If you would've had Federal Fusion MSR .223 ammo with the fast burning powder for the short AR type barrels it would've been even more impressive. -W. Liggett

Oh man, I was in Southern Arkansas last week hunting, I got 2 does at the processor.👊 The last day I hunted, I went to the stand about 10am and stayed till dark. I did not go 10 minutes without seeing deer. I did not take one that day, but man it was one of the funest stands I ever sat.👊 I even posted a short video of a couple of button heads practice fighting, it was a great hunt.🫡
