Germany made some bad bets. Free ride on usa propping up global commerce , bet on growing china markets, depend on Russian energy. You seem to think u have a lot of leverage. I don’t see it.

Well the counteroffensive failed miserably. Predictably wrong as always. Much like his operational reports from Afghanistan where his unit was making "significant progress." You don't get your third or fourth star by telling the truth. You do it by kissing the President's behind which he surely knows how to do.

Mass immigration won’t solve the issue of low birth rates in developed countries.
@l.3626
@l.3626 Ай бұрын
it only makes it worse, bc most immigrants are not educated, meaning they cost more taxes than earn taxes over the whole time and it just devides the suicide by having excess males in the young demographics. Immigration is just dragging out the problem, its like instead of driving against the wall in normal speed with same velocity we now do it with the same velocity but slower speed, but eventually we will hit the wall. Here in Germany its an absolute shitshow since many decades

American Council in Germany is such an excellent channel with its wonderful interviews nd sober analysis and panel discussions. Steve Sokol is a pleasure to hear. But one feels like smashing one's head and tearing out one's hair at the bias and propaganda which the channel rolls out on Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine issues. As if Russia was not cornered by the biggest military alliance expanding threateningy and frighteningly to its doorstep. No consideration of the Western media on this role of the West in provoking Russia. Instead of winning over Russia to its side and iaolting Chin, it has pushed both of them together. And similarly on Palestine the same denial of facts on who were the originals and who settled and grabbed everything. Who violently colonized the locals but then at every step halted any international blowback by playing the victim card and anti-Semitic card so wonderfuly.. to convert the real victims into vilains and themselves (the villans) into victims with such ease. Awesome skill... but you should shed atleast some light.

Is this professor aware that 12% of the humanity lives in the "west" and 88% elsewhere? Is there any evidence that China wants the west to change their system? Why in contrast does the west always want everyone else to change their system to be west-like? Who is imperialist here? What's wrong with economic development first? When you don't have enough to eat, do you spend your day thinking about democracy? This professor is completely west centric and that is exactly why the rest of the world has a problem with. And ironically she is saying, no, the rest of the world has no right (" China has no legitimate claim") to want to live differently.

While Russia has taken few square miles in Avdivka at a huge cost, one can present it in the West as if Russia has crossed thousands of kilometers & is banging on Europe's door. Zelensky has clearly stated that Ukraine has lost only 31,000 soldiers.. which indicates that Ukraine is doing pretty well and is relatively untouched by the War. While Russia is sweating hundreds of soldiers for every treeline and is getting ground down to dust. But One must present the mosquito bite which Russia poses to Ukraine .. as if now Ukraine is lost and it is now Europe itself which is facing a grave threat. This can be a brilliant ploy to scare Western populations, make them anxious and fall in line behind an aggressive hardline Russia policy. And to get them to support the Funding of Ukraine. And then to push for millitary involvement of European armies/populations in Ukraine as well.

Saying Europe, and Germany in particular is going through a "paradigm shift" is the understatement of this century.. This guy is a university professor? His students are being poorly educated by this neocon stooge. No worries, Germany will be preoccupied trying to figure out how to maintain a high standard of living while simultaneously deindustrializing and paying 5x higher prices for its energy. All European nations are going to suffer like they did just after the war.. only this time without a Marshall plan coming to the rescue.

How about forging peace as a strategy, you know diplomacy, respect, and taking others concerns into consideration? For that I'm afraid you'll have to cut the knot to the U. S. That's not how we roll. I know, I'm American and watched us go from one disastrous war one lie after the other since Korea. Germany better wake up and choose it's friends more carefully.

Any country that joins NATO and allows US military bases inside their country looses it's sovereignty and is basically an occupied country. Germany needs to declare its independence from America.

The moment he said the words "Russia launched its war of aggression against Ukraine" , he lost me. Ask the 4 million Ukranians of Russian descent who were under siege and daily bombardment for 8 years by the Ukrainian government military since 2014 and saw thousands upon thousands of their fellow citizens killed, their language, culture banned by the Ukrainian government who launched a war of aggression. Ask them who refused to abide by the Minsk Agreements to stop the bombardment and siege of Eastern Ukraine? Why did 2.5 million to 3 million Ukranians flee to Russia instead of Western Ukraine or Western Europe since 2014. Why did tens of thousands of Ukranian citizens of Russian defense take up arms and join pro Moscow militias to fight against the Ukrainian military?

Disinformation? Really? I call it censorship no matter what. It´s the responsibillty of the citizen to try and separate facts from fancy. Do we convict a conman who manages to persuade somebody to buy something? Funny that the concept of disinfo only comes from the left and the establishment which already has a stronghold on cancel culture.

Watching when a news story title or picture makes you feel a strong emotion is a great east first step to fact-checking! Another really important quick way to fact-check information is to notice when you are being told to believe 2 mutually exclusive narratives. I noticed this especially with Russian disinformation (China is much more careful and cleaner with its preferred narratives). Sometimes you will be offered 2 competing explanations for a picture, video, or story in which the 2 explanations cannot both be true. If one is true, it precludes the other, and yet, they are pushing both narratives at the same time. You'll see this also in the Trump, FOX, US Republican narratives since they are often tied closely with the disinfo and misinfo of Russia. For example, both: "NATO is already in Ukraine with advisors, officers, and troops fighting on-the-ground." And at the same time: "Putin/Russia will respond by shooting nuclear weapons into the capitol cities of NATO countries (Washington DC, London, Berlin, etc.) if NATO countries "escalate" and send certain weapons (long-range artillery, fighter jets, etc.) to Ukraine to be used by the Ukrainian Armed forces to fight Russia." This is just one example of so, so many! This is just a quick and easy thing to watch out for when quickly browsing through your news sources.
