It’s because the 300 has a foot brake and a wide enough distance between the front wheels to be taxed as a tricycle and driven on a car license. Presumably you also don’t “need” a helmet but I bet you’d be stopped by the Police every five minutes.

A friend mentioned that there were motorcycling masons playing in paddling pools, up at the Ionians Rugby club Brantingham this weekend. This being my 'neck of the woods', I hopped on the Lambretta to go and check things out. Sure enough, there were dozens of camper vans and transits with bike ramps attached, and a nest of highly polished old guys in very crispy black leather. They all looked very shiny and clean, I think the Transits did the majority of the mileage. Unfortunately, no studded comedy leather aprons on display.

My mates ride Yamaha Tricity bikes, one on a 125 and the other a 300. I seriously considered one but right now I'm heavily invested in a Honda Forza 125. Enjoy the ride! More importantly stay safe!

Most of them came from Ebay but some from Amazon. Just whack in Tricity decals or TriCity decals into google :-)

There aren't enough videos about the Tricity out there. I think it's because a lot of young people wouldn't be caught dead on them. That's a pity. They are the only bike I will ever buy having owned one.

It was built for city commuting with a 300cc version in a bigger frame for longer distances. I don't see a place for a 200. Best bike I ever owned.

I did the NC500+ rom Glasgow to the welly then onto Fort William , over to Applecross and spent the night at Ullapool campsite before doing JOG and Inverness before returning to Glasgow over two days in June . My adventure bike was my 2022 Honda Super Cub 125 with 35kgs of camping gear, food and spare fuel, just to prove to myself I could do it on my terms, the pass was a doddle with the smaller bike and single track roads a breeze due to it being so slim, and at 110 mpg for the trip fuel costs were kept down .
