Finally a good review on this rod!! How do you feel they did on the lure rating? Can this rod truly handle 5-6oz baits?
@DaveysWorldFishing12 минут бұрын
First off, thank you. I appreciate the kind words. Okuma is generally pretty good on lure ratings. Should be good to go on 5-6oz baits.

I really like the SST Travel Rods. I have the long Spinner but haven't tried the BC line yet. Like you pointed out made extremely well with that long strong spigot ferrule design. For those that are afraid to use travel rods as your main, don't be. I've been doing that for years. I've nothing but good praises and reviews for them:) Nice review.

Why would you attach the sinker to the fluoro leader? versus attaching it to the braid? Or attach it to the fluoro but very close to your swivel? Just thinking of having the weight as far away from the bait fish as possible... ?
@DaveysWorldFishing20 күн бұрын
@@patrickverbockel2597 You can go either way. Personally, I like it on the Fluoro as it is stiffer and keeps the light from twisting and doubling up on itself as you drop down.

THE LINE CAPACITY IS NOT ADEQUATE FOR SURF FISHING ! THE LARGE CAPACITY SPOOL IS OK HOWEVER THE LINE CLIP IS DESIGNED FOR BRAID IT DOES NOT ALLOW FOR CLIPPING THE LEADER LINE ! AS FOR THE UGLY RED SPOOL ...WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT FOR ...ALSO NO LINE CLIP ON THAT SPOOL !!!
