Never test a new outlet with a hot stick.. that’s not ensuring you have correct voltage.

The Corro-Protect unit is quite expensive. Most likely within the 20 year warranty period of the unit, other unrelated problems will arris with you'r water heater ie, thermostat, over temp protector, pressure relief valve, etc. With this in mind, and the price of the Corro-Protect, you would be better of purchase a couple of standard Anode Rods for $19 which last from 8-10 years where I live. I will keep a spare and just replace mine in 6-7 years.

You can also use Schlüter-SCHIENE-V trim to recess the drywall around the cabinets. It gives a modern look by combining metal and wood along the reveal edge.

Great work, but personally I’d prefer if the door fronts are flush against the wall👍
@RefreshHomeImprovementsКүн бұрын
Nice! And what do you see when the doors are open? The edge of the Trimtex bead or do you use something else?
@AZ-um1ozКүн бұрын
@@RefreshHomeImprovementshow about using regular trimtex corner bead or their deeper Lbead? Then caulk the perimeter. It’ll be trickier for sure to make all reveals around the doors equal.

The most unneeded invention in history, which is why you only see it on channels like this. If you can't tape up to a corner, this isn't going to help, in fact you now have a huge paper surface you need to get mudded perfectly into the wall, which is worse than a 1 inch piece of tape.

All that work and you neglected to run an ethernet cable! Wired > Wireless! Unless you need mobility/portability, or running cable is not feasible (and if you ran a cable for power, it most certainly was feasible ro run a CAT-6 cable) always go wired!
@RefreshHomeImprovements3 күн бұрын
That would have been great, but these clients didn’t have any requests or needs for that. We didn’t run any new wires. Just tied off the plugs below. This was a remodel situation 👍

Please don't install outlets like these with USB charging ports! Technology standards change too often to make these things worth using. The same goes for funiture with built-in USB charging ports. We don't know if USB-C will be the power and data standard in 10 years, and even if it is, this may not support the current protocol version/standard for USB PD (Power Delivery) meaning it may not be able to negotiate the proper voltage and current for the device you want to charge....or at worst, you'll get "slow" charging (slow in quotes as it's relative to how fast the device should charge with the proper charger at the time). This is another example of customer demand for things they don't understand because of poor customer education.
@RefreshHomeImprovements3 күн бұрын
We still shouldn’t avoid installing things that are good for today. We can always change the receptacle again in 5 years if that’s required👍

Also thought it might be worth mentioning that there is a new revision of this M210 out - i just got one early this AM and the key difference is that it throws up a green LED sensor on the true-center of the stud which is a nice feature. - I just spoke to customer service @ Franklin Sensors to confirm as it's apparently only listed in the tiny print in the documentation that nobody ever reads.

not sure if anyone else mentioned this already but you don't take the battery cover off to access the pencil - there is a cutout spot on outside - bottom right where you can slide it out with your finger.

What really turns me on about this idea is that it possibly makes the paint more sandable, which would not only allow one to achieve a perfectly smooth final finish, but to also match that finish in the future when doing touch ups, simply by sanding with the same grade of sandpaper you used previously, blendling the touchup to the rest of the wall. What can you say about other performance parameters? Like scuff and stain resistance. Adding chalk material like joint compound would increase the porosity of the paint, so it would be a good idea to apply some sort of wipe on finishing coat, I'm sure.
