RdRp (the replicase that replicates the RNA template) is highly specific to its complementary sequence so it will not replicate mutation hahah. There are some concerns about the virus incorporating the replicase into its genome in-vitro but its shown to be safe in organisms.

Russia adopted Phages over Antibiotics with great success. It has an extensive library of cures collected over the last hundred years or so. Attempts to introduce it to the west have been met with extreme prejudice. It is the one greatest thing to come out of communism and it is an medical achievement that is at risk of being lost. I suspect the issue is that it is all natural and therefore can not be patented.

Most living organisms are dependent on other living things when it comes to eating or breathing. Bacteriophages are completely dependent in a much different way, I suppose. They can't reproduce without something else's RNA. But again, who cares whether it makes a virus *alive* it's just so unique it doesn't match our eight criteria for life ┐( ˘_˘)┌

So, What if something goes wrong, and some of own specialized cells get "Phaged" or say our gut-microbiome bacteria are attacked by B-phages, because they engineered a Bacteriophage that is a pan-species hunter?
