Jan has been working in the ceramic industry for over 5o years, growing from a home-based business to brink and mortar of a storefront that is located in the heart of Beaverton, Oregon. She has been teaching classes for over 5o years and continues to teach locally at her shop, She has taught all forms of ceramic and continues to grow in her knowledge in the industry.

Jan's Ceramic Creations plus is a local ceramic shop that offers a variety of ceramics both bisque and greenware. They are what people would call a traditional ceramic shop, Where she offers both bisque for people to paint right away and greenware for people to clean, then paint. Just recently Jan has expanded her classroom to offer time on her electric wheel.

Jan's Ceramics also offers a variety of stock to choose from. She houses over 10,000 molds which allow her to have a wide range of items to choose from. She also offers 3 different paint companies the look you are wanting.

What is the colour name and brand of the antiquing you used?

The color is walnut that is made by Kimple colors. It is a water base antique solution. This is their website. You can go check it out and you should be able to find a shop near you that carries their colors. www.creativeparadiseceramics.com/

I used black chalk paint as a base coat can I antique over that

I don't think you would be able to antique over the black chalk paint. The antique would not been seen. I would recommend using a lighter color.

Dear Vickie! Thank you for the great video! I actually had seen this artwork and would like to know if you can tell what method was used? It looks like the Pluto figure was first coated, then stained with antiquing, then there is a layer of gold leaf or liquid because it's ceramics. Would you have a look and tell me what you think?
