Ngl, im kinda stuck. The thing that disables wifi is activated, and it won't reconnect to the internet. And to do anything in the settings, it says i need to dissconnect from express vpn. How do i reconnect to my internet? Am i just blind or is there actually a problem. Just realised it is not an express pvn video, but could someone help

Why does Microsoft insists on making the use of their promote and more complimentary, which NOT only adds more licensing fees but even further costs due to the constant need of IT specialists. What is their model ? I think ‘small & medium’ enterprises will have to definitively move to other products such as google and the likes. They haven’t understood that there is a ‘limit’ to the expenses that a small business can face. Good luck to them, but I really think they are missing the point. Regards. Martin ( South Africa)

What a great feature. Just didn't understand why alias was an option on the endpoint side while you used RBAC on the target side. Didn't notice RBAC being used on the endpoint side. Will dig more. Thanks

Im having alot of trouble with this. If the computer is not joined to entra DS but entra ID cloud, how do i map the storage account? I can map with keys but i need to use entra ID credentials to use the NTFS permissions. Im understanding that your vm is already in the same resource group as the storage account.

Unfortunately that scenario isn't supported. To use a Entra ID joined computers, the user account must be synced from Windows AD. If using Entra DS, the computer has to be Entra DS joined to get line-of-sight to a domain controller. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/files/storage-files-identity-auth-hybrid-identities-enable?tabs=azure-portal%2Cintune#minimum-prerequisites

does this account have to be enabled ?. The company I work for ius pushing for it to be disabled. I'm unsure how yould get it enabled if needed.

I don't believe that would work. Someone would need to log in with and account that has elevated privileges to enable it.

Complete drivel. Unbalanced. Only focusses on the limitations and why not to use it. Nothing about how in a lot of scenarios this a much better option than building your own VMs and installing AD DS.

I followed with you video, when we do that azure file sharing for mapped drive it clearly says storage keys way is for admins where as either hybrid or azure domain joined is preferred way for end users but you went with keys first why is that so? Can you please make a remake of this video in which client is using azure vm, using his credentials which is domain azure domain joined, imagine it like on prem ad where any user can login to any pc on domain using his credentials, and so how to map a drive for client on azure vm joined to azure ad (on-line)? I’m not sure what you mean by the Azure VM is Azure domain joined. An Azure VM can be joined to the cloud-based Entra ID directory or it can be joined to the Entra DS domain. If the VM is joined to Entra ID, this solution won’t work because that computer object is not replicated from Entra ID to Entra DS. For an Entra DS Joined computer, the share is first mounted with the storage account key to set NTFS permissions. Once those are set, then the Entra DS users can access the share without the key. Also, for this solution, ensure the users are sourced from Entra ID and replicated to Entra DS. It won’t work if the user is sourced from Entra DS because the user object does not exist in Entra ID, and can’t get the share-level RBAC role applied.

I have been enjoying your informative videos. Most of my clients use Business Basic and Business Standard and therefore Security Defaults. I have noticed that the Entra P1 license appears to be applied Tenant-wide when a single Business Premium license is purchased. Do you know whether this enables Conditional Access for all users of the Tenant?

It does enable CA tenant wide but you need a P1 license for every user to be compliant.
