I cant decide between the WT and the Gremlin...have you surfed the Gremlin?
@tatsuki13i2 ай бұрын
Didn’t have a chance to grab the Gremlin. But if you surf mushy, small waves like the ones in this clip, I’d recommend the WT. I think the huge difference between two is that the WT has a wider and thicker nose area like a classic style twinnie. That helps paddling really well. So much fun out of it.

amazing progress man! where are you surfing in japan ? what is the best months to surf there?
@tatsuki13i3 ай бұрын
@@SokoSurfCo Thanks!! I surf in Shonan and Chiba. Both areas neighboring Tokyo. Chiba is the place where the Olympic surfing game was held. I’d say autumn is the best season for wave consistency like Sept through Nov. We have waves in summer if we’ve got typhoons and winter as well but either too hot or too cold.

What size Twinsman are you riding? Do you like using it as a groveler in very small waves? Fun watching your progress!
@tatsuki13i5 ай бұрын
@@davidstanfield7170 Mine is 5’6 stock dim(4-5 liters more than my HPSB). I like it in small waves but I feel like there are better options especially for very small surf like this. My initial thoughts are, this thing paddles like a machine, catches any waves but feels sticky under foot probably due to the bottom design and the pulled in tail. it’s good when waves are steep but not for mushy sections. I want to try this board in good condition like 4ft+ clean, but no decent swells for months.

how do you rate the board?
@tatsuki13i9 ай бұрын
This one has been great actually. But not for ppl who don’t like classic fish kinda boards like short and super thick cos the WT is basically a fish board with a squash tail and thrusters. If you’re okay with a short and thick board, I would recommend it. goes really fast, easy paddler. Hard to push the tail when turning but I think V bottom compensates

@tatsuki13i9 ай бұрын
Great! I tried FCS2 Performer template, Filipe Toledo and AM fins. I’m still testing fins on this board but I don’t like it with fins raked too much. Tail feels draggy. Neutral template is best suited I think

Really enjoying watching your surf progression!! Also was cool to see your White Tiger videos. How do you like that board??
@tatsuki13i Жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks for the comment! and yeah! the White Tiger! I'm riding a PU 5'4 off-the-rack one and still struggling with how to ride it but I like it! It flows really good with twin + trailer. One thing i wanna mention is that it feels so different from other small wave performance boards like Neck beard. I think it is because WT is basically a fish board with a squash/thruster tail. NB has more performance-ish nose and wider tail than WT. I would pick NB when the waves are waist-high or less so that I can catch more waves easily and the board is easy to control. (my NB is 5'6 EPS, 27L) And I would go with WT if the waves are bigger but too mushy to pick up a high performance board.
