I'm looking for a GMT that flies under the radar as well. I have an Explorer II, and a good stable of Panerai with GMT complication. However, these are not suitable for every location I travel to. I prefer the higher end watches when I can safely wear them, but nowadays, there are many places that they will attract the wrong attention. And I agree completely on the sentiment expressed in the video about not wearing a rep (for many reasons). I have heard of many folks who suffered serious physical injury while being relieved of their watch. The value of the watch is irrelevant at that point. Yes, you will be sitting in some overseas version of an ER, grateful that the thief is just now discovering your Alie Express "Rolex" is not the score he had hoped, but you will still be sitting in the ER. The timing bezel is a nice addition for this watch, especially the bi-directionality of it. Definitely a practical addition. It does make the watch look a little "busy" though, given the minute track and the 24-hour ring. Personally I think the size is perfect. As I mentioned, I'm a big Panerai fan, so 44mm is just about perfect. Believe it or not, I find my Explorer II a little smaller than I would like. I'm tall, and sturdy, along with decent sized wrists, so I find a small watch always looks "dainty" on me. Anyway, I'm giving this one some thought. My only real complaint is that it would be nice to have a true GMT movement when bouncing around time zones. This GMT configuration requires a whole lot more setting and fussing.

Thank you for the ample review. I looked up the ETA 2892-A2 movement and it is a high frequency movement with a sweeping second. It is a little less than 26mm. So, for Hamilton going to a 40mm case is a little too much for me. I love thin watches because I don't like them to be in the way when I try to reach something. I would still want the sweeping second though. 1mm thicker for that would be awesome.

I have the slate dial and love it. IMO the slate dial is more versatile as you can dress it up a bit more than the blue more comical looking one. It also wears much better than my 41mm sub date. Slimmer, slicker and hugs the wrist a lot better on my 7.25inch wrist. If I had to choose one it would be the Yachtmaster 40. Also every man and his dog has a sub out there. Yet to see a YM 40 slate dial!

Picked one of these up on Amazon for $380 new. Paired it with a paratrooper strap from CNS watchbands. Super comfortable, super lightweight, super thin. It's perfect. You care less about a second hand over time. This automatic was cheaper than the same model that had quartz movement. If you can find one of these under $500 I say buy it.
