Gino was just humiliated by Dan...with A LOT of favoritism from the ref!...That ref wouldn't allow Gino squat, but let Dan get away with a ton of "feels good" action on Gino, especially on his head in those headscissors

4:45 to 5:20...Gino enjoying the "feels good" aspect of the headscissor, along with the humiliation of making Dan take it after punishing Gino in it...Ref clearly favoring/helping Dan, by making Gino break the hold before he was finished humiliating Dan in it

Wait...with the way Carpentier is wrestling. Was he the first, or among the first wrestlers to use the ropes for momentum?

4:29 THAT was so cool! I wish modern wrestling was more like this. Looks like real chain wrestling and very subdued flashiness as opposed to forthright flashiness.

Just an excellent bout from start to finish. Shows what we are missing today with the current TV wrestling trash. It is all garbage and has zero of what this bout shows and demonstrates. Excellent holds used from both opponents. Great finishing hold too.

若き日のスナイダーを見ることが出来るとは。この時代、打撃技はなく、ロープブレイクにも頼らない。間も無く、レスラーはスタミナ面でも大変だったろう。

Billy Goelz happened to be my Great Uncle and Godfather. RIP. I had the pleasure of growing up knowing him most of my life and visiting him often in Fox Lake and Antioch Illinois, also visiting him later in Corpus Christi, Texas when he was still training and promoting wrestling. He introduced me to Verne Gagne and Greg Gagne, and many other great wrestlers. I was lucky to see some great matches he and Verne promoted in the coliseum in Corpus. He loved fishing, writing poetry and playing the violin. A great Veteran and a wonderful sweet person..who could take down a tank..🙂

The ring announcer on this one was the former professional wrestler (1930’s) Jules Strongbow. He did locker room interviews and advertised Tefon weight loss pills in the 1950’s when we watched wrestling on KTLA channel 5. Thanks for posting these awesome memories on your channel. I’m 77 years old now.

3:37 "They're complaining about the Baron's right elbow which bears down on the right eye... nothing wrong with it, perfectly OK" Doesn't faze Blassie, who maintains the head scissors. 😎 The Baron sure took a lot of head scissors punishment in this match.

The thumbprint for this video...by far, my FAVORITE spot in the match...I frickin really enjoy how LONNNNNG Dan makes Gomez take the humiliating "pin attempt" (that the ref, who by golly, just can't seem to get a 3 count, lol, because He'd rather watch (and help) Dan have some alpha-feelin, wrestlin fun, by simply humiliating the little Mexican muscle-punk....tell me Dan wasn't tinglin from the surges of pure testosterone ..and I'll call ya a liar 🤨
