We did this in D&D and Cyberpunk DM: You find your friend in pieces. Player: I jump start his heart with my taser DM: *eye roll* 1d10 Tell me what you roll. Impress me. Player: I got 64 on the die

Homebrew mechanics are fun. I’m working on a mechanic that will allow my party to try out profoundly absurd strategies without penalizing them too harshly by just rolling back time so they can take a proper approach to things

I also use a homebrew combat rule for when two or more players have equal initiative they can "combo attack" and do extra or better effects with spells/attacks together.
