Very informative… I see your belts on Amazon.. are those legit or should I order thru your website? If available on both, is there an advantage? And is there a major functional difference between your leather and suede belts

Yes, we do have some of our belts on Amazon; there is more variety available on our website. A double ply leather belt has 8.5mm of top grain leather and 1.5mm of suede. A double suede belt has 7mm of top grain leather and 3mm of suede. This makes the double ply belt feel more firm and the double suede more flexible.

Your video showed me a great way to tighten the belt (by anchoring using the rack post). I used to have to struggle to get the belt tight enough. Your method works like a charm. Thx

Informative video. Thank you. I'm looking for a high-quality 3-inch belt right now, after I purchased the SBD belt (4 inch), which is a fine piece of workmanship. After years of training beltless, I can testify a belt is very useful. However, the 4-inch belt does not quite fit me right when deadlifting. It's fine on squats and presses and even when bench pressing. So I look around and expect to be flooded with options everywhere, and I even looked at the belts I can borrow from the commercial gym, but 99% of the belts seem to be all 4 inch and, what's more, crap. All belts that are wider in the back automatically fall in the crap category. Rogue offers a US-made 3 inch leather belt, which I'd also have to purchase from overseas (I'm located in the Netherlands). However, I'll go for a Dominion belt. Starting Strength has approved these belts, so that's good enough for me. Strange that 3-inch belts are so hard to find. I have to scour another continent to find what I need. Have to look up the shipping costs... Sighs. This is going to be expensive, but my deadlift needs to move up. It's all very complicated. There's even double-ply, with the Starting-Strength logo on it. I wonder if this is much better than the somewhat less expensive options, which are single ply.

I think you are overthinking it. Just google 3 inch weightlifting belt with 5-10mm thickness. The worst one with those specs will be 90% as good as the best one.

How should the width of the belt feel though? I have one but it hits my hip bone and my ribs so I can’t go too tight without it feeling uncomfortable on my bones. Weird question but I only see sizes for length not width and I’m new to using a belt😅
@rachelhubbard6199
@rachelhubbard6199 2 жыл бұрын
It will be uncomfortable at first. There are belts that are not stiff or not even leather. If you're just beginning, you may benefit from using something like that at first then upgrading to a more hard core belt. Rogue has a leather one that has some more pliability to it

Im measuring 35-36" for my waist. Which size should I go for? Seems like small but I dont want to get the wrong size. Maybe medium cuz according to the site its between 30"-40" for medium but Im not sure. I like the belt to be super tight when I lift.

How do I determine the width of the belt? 4 inch, 3 inch, etc
@dominionstrengthtraining3984
@dominionstrengthtraining3984 4 жыл бұрын
Generally, I recommend a 3" unless you're over 6' ft tall, young, and intend to be competitive. If you have an extremely long torso a 4" might suit you for squats and presses, but still might be too wide for your deadlift (which is the limiting factor here). Many lifters will use a 3" for everything for several years and then decide if they want to step up to a 4" for squats and presses.

@@dominionstrengthtraining3984 Well, im 6 ft 3 - 6 ft 4 (194 cm) but I have long femurs and a relatively short torso. I was more looking into where I should measure in order to determine the appropriate width. I am currently thinking of getting a 2 inch belt, which is more or less exactly the space i have between the top of my pelvis and the bottom of my rib cage.
