This was a great video. I know you like lists, so you must have had fun putting this together. Those are a lot of games. I wish i kept better records of what i played. I need to start logging my plays on bgg. I agree with almost all of them except "lets go to japan", "tranquility" and "turing machine" japan would be moved up one to really good. Tranquility would be moved down to i like it but not always and turing machine i would move down to really good. Some on your list i havent played yet or dont have.

Chronicles of Crime is so not for me I had to laugh. We got stuck and frustrated every time we played and many crimes went unsolved. I got Forbidden Desert on your recommendation but have yet to play it, we are switching between Pandemic and Everdell and I’m solo playing Final Girl when I have time. I love Gentle Rain when I’m listening to something, it’s such a nice game. This was fun and impressive-you’ve played a LOT of games so far!

I haven’t read many 5 star books the last few years. Need recommendations, but then it comes with expectations and rarely lives up. . . . And I am so glad I am not the only one that finds Emily Henry just lacking . . . Something. Don’t know what, but something.

I wonder if Luna has some chihuahua in her. All those grouchy sounds I ever every day 😄 For books, I keep forgetting about the library. I used to check out digital magazines and I think we get 12 or so ebooks a month. I need to check that out again, get it..."check out" 😂 Okay, sorry for the terrible library pun attempt. Sounds like Wyatt is in the background getting your pizza ready. I hope you guys had a wonderful evening 😊 A 9 hour road trip sounds tough. I have only gone 6-7 hours and that was tough enough. I tend to get headaches if I'm in the car too long. I have to take regular breaks just to walk around, like at my day job. Sitting doesn't seem to do me well. We're planning to go to the east coast next year and that's a 13 hour drive or a 1.5 hour flight. We aren't sure how we are going to do that yet. Most people do it in two days, but I know some who do it in a day. I'm not sure how that's physically possible. Okay, rambling me is going back to work..well after a walk around 🙃

Did not like the Hoover book. Have read three or four of them, and have to say I am not a big fan. Do you follow Ezeekat? He is both book and board game based, his short videos crack me up. I am *not* a big fantasy reader-I usually stop at Harry Potter level. But because of him I am currently listening to A History of Dragons. Still can’t tell what I think. I am a sucker for Olympic sports romance. I think trashy bubble gum books are the main reason I keep my KU subscription, just to not have to concentrate or think about anything serious for a while!

I feel like I need to keep a running commentary for all the comments I have had in my head, but didn’t. So here are some thoughts: * love Gentle Rain. Can knock out several games a la former Solitare addiction without even thinking. * 5 day weekend with bff while her husband and sons were away led to playing 14 different games, most of which she has never played. I love spatial games but am horrible at them, she kicks my butt every time. She loved Boop, didn’t care for Paint the Roses (her son played before he left for camp, big 14yo attitude ruined experience), really liked Living Forest, but I think the winner of the weekend was Awkward Guests. So much so that she asked me to bring it to her birthday dinner to play with other friends, and now they want to play again. * Ooh! You should do a video on your top 5 or 10 (controversial?) house rules! * Jenna at @TheBoardGameGarden I also love. She is directly responsible for introducing me to the plastic box storage for small box games. I had to expand to another drawer in an adjacent cabinet (which I swore I wouldn’t, but we know how self made collection promises hold up, right?) I even got them to create sleeves for some versions they didn’t have yet-Oz Fluxx, Harry Potter UNO, etc. I had so many more than I realized, almost 4 dozen, but to have them alphabetized and uniform in size makes me so happy. * Just got a bonus. Well, bonus is a misnomer. Let’s say I got very slightly overpaid. So I finally splurged on Etsy and bought several of the bits I have wanted for awhile: replacement bird feeder/dice tower for Wingspan and some fun acrylic eggs, overlays for the White Castle player boards to keep the pieces from falling over everywhere, gemstones for Splendor, etc. Just geeky fun bits and totally twice what was my overpay. * Speaking of Wingspan, happened to be in Barnes and Noble and noticed the Oceania expansion was on sale 50% off because the box had a small tear. Why not? I thought. I am just going to consolidate anyway . . . . Fast forward to me at home, starting to punch out stuff and thinking Wait a Minute, this score pad looks familiar. Yep, I already have it. Sure sign that I need to play it more often! Need to review solo mode for that, might be the easiest way to table it for me. Fortunately they let me return it! Looking forward to your August summary!

I still like…death! The way you said that 😄 Mentioning Lily licking the blanket reminds me we need to wash our dog blankets. She goes to town licking them sometimes and then plops down. I just don't get it. But a booming “what are you doing??” from me snaps her out of thinking of licking my blankets or seat cushions (which are thankfully machine washable). You always have interesting games to show, many like this new to me. I like the theme and small compact size of the packaging. Small packaging is underrated for limited shelf space. I have pretty much zero shelf space left for games. On the other hand I can see how this game and other small packaged games could get lost or overlooked. I don’t know why I’m going off on this tangent and I apologize for rambling. Maybe I’m just not wanting to go back to work 😫

The Light in the Mist!!! 🙌 Yes!!! I got this one last weekend and have made it through 9 of the puzzles now!! The “wisdom” notes in the front of the book to set the scene for each puzzle give a nice little hint about how to solve it, and I love the feeling of sitting there and staring at the cards until your brain burns and then when the *click* happens, it’s like “OH!!!” lol so fun!!! I love The A.R.T. Project solo, but I cheat. 😅 I’m terrible at the game and give myself like 10 hearts to start with and still epically lose, but like you said, it makes me want to try again!! One day I’ll beat it with my absurd amount of starting resources and then eventually I’ll scale it down to their “normal” mode, but that time just hasn’t come yet! lol I have yet to get that version of Horrified, but recently acquired and played American Monsters three handed and thoroughly enjoyed it!!! And A Gentle Rain… is such a lovely game!!! lol it’s a permanent resident on my desk so I can just pull it out for a de-stress when needed!! lol Such a great selection of games!!!

I'd never be able to figure out books to get her without this kind of content. Have you tried connecting with others on Goodreads? I started to get into that a little bit but regrettably, like I was saying earlier, there is only so much time to go around. I get how you feel, in my own way, because not many people read the kind of non-fiction stuff I do and I find a lot of the few who do are academic types that make me feel dumb in comparison, like I’m out of their league or something. So I kind of feel alone in that regard and Goodreads seemed like a way to connect with others like me, because I saw there are lots on there, but sadly I just don’t have the time on top of everything else, mostly my job really. It also doesn’t help that I read slowly, as you like you tease me about 😋

Love the recap! There are some really wonderful games on this list. I love A.R.T. Project solo. It's a lot of fun. Gentle Rain looks great but for some reason I cannot find it anywhere. I also love Trailblazers. I am finally getting good at it. LoL. YES!!!! Horrified! Love it. Regrettably, usually the job. A simple hangout video like this worked very well. I'm typing this under "a heavy rain" as what's left of Debby dumps an entire month's worth of rain on us in a couple of hours. I get why you really want to get that 21 because I was the guy who endlessly played that peg game when I was little, where you had to clear all the pegs and get the last one in the middle, trying to actually get it, which I did maybe once. We've never played Catan🤭 SPOTS!! I want that one!! I haven't looked for it yet but I did look around for The Game and it appears to be sold out. Alright, it's back to work for me. Hi Lily 😍👋🏼 Ah, she’s a licker 😅 Here I’m often telling our dog to “put that licker away”. Yuck, chihuahua kisses. Hmm, she seems to be lying upside down as I write this. Interesting 😂 Anyways, this game looks really neat, both the artwork and gameplay. I like a good number puzzle. Near the end I almost couldn’t blink curious to see what cards you were going to get and if you could play them or get stuck. It didn’t matter that I could hear the cat in another room doing something questionable. I had to see the outcome! I think I’ll keep an eye out for “The Game”. I think we’d like it. We don’t have any of your plant spotlights but I’m upping my plant skills. I got a bunch of books that I’m reading on plant care and plant types, all for outdoor plants at the moment, but I’m going to be on the lookout for indoor plant books too. Time to take my plant skills to the next level. There’s a plant revolution going on here!

I like "the game" both solo and multiplayer. This is my favorite art for the game. I bought 2 sets because I like the art so much. My Solo win rate is low on this one. lol 😊

We have never played anything like this. It was very neat to watch. I stopped before the end, before you might have revealed anything, not because I didn’t want to keep hanging out (I certainly did!), but as I was watching through I started thinking that Sheena might really like this and wanted to keep the mystery for us both. She’s often playing logic/deduction games on her iPad. I now potentially have a gift idea for Christmas 🙂 As you were reading the description of the conservatory, when you said that sounds amazing, I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a dreamy place! ...well, maybe not for the poor deceased 😅

Great video. I love seeing lists of upcoming games. It shows me just how much more space I need on my shelves! There's a lot of great games there that I either own, have backed, or just plain want. Like seeing your perspective on the games as well. KTBG games are pretty cool. We have a few and have enjoyed them.

New subscriber have you played Detective City of Angels? If not it's from Van Ryder has a solo and Cooperative mode for you to play through each case. Then you take it to some friends that didn't play it coop with you and you play as the Chisel while they take on the role of detectives competing to solve the case first. As the Chisel you can play it as you'd like as a DM running the game or play against them to leave the case unsolved. When a detective asks a question to a suspect as the Chisel you will decide to give that suspects best response and tell the whole truth, out right lie or give a little bit of truth in a lie. It's one of my favorite games a Clue+ if you will.

Preorder Rock Hard direct from Devir they have a listing with a promo character Jackie Fox of the Runaways who designed the game. If the option to preorder from the publisher is there I usually got that route cause they'll usually ship before retail stores. I've already received Invincible from Direwolf Digital and Tir Na Nog from Grand Gamers Guild.

Great video. I don't go to Gen Con but look through the list every year and preorder so many games. Including Rock Hard, Invincible, Arc, Star Trek Captains Chair, Tales of Authorian Knights, The Gang, Sly The Spire, Tir Na Nog and This Game is Killer.

Stalk Exchange: I couldn't get a vibe on this one either. Waiting to hear more. Mycelia: looks like a good puzzle. Definitely on our watch list. Undergrove: backed this on KS. Seems like it isn't living up to the buzz based on feedback from those who have played it on BGA. Honey Buzz: haven't played this for a while either but the expansion is a must have. I really regret not backing it on KS. Windmill Valley: watching this one. I'm leaning towards passing on it but I haven't been able to get a good vibe on it. Maybe I need to watch a playthough. Spectacular: this one is now on my watch list. I wasn't aware of it until seeing this video. Happy Home: another one I wasn't aware of until watching this video. Sounds interesting. We are also looking to find our forever home. I always thought it would be where we are now but the city around us has grown so much, things getting so busy and changing in not good ways that we can't stay here for the long term. Right now we are trying to figure out where we might want to go.
