Does this go over the factory skid plate?

Is this a four season top ? And I know bikini tops leak over the doors , are these sealed to keep rain out?

Two things. I dislike assembling things. I dislike working on vehicles. Installed Bestop Trektop NX twill. mfg 11/22 installed 4/24 No doubt if you buy this or any other convertible top for your Jeep you will watch countless videos on KZbin or distributors websites, but keep something in mind. All of these videos are old, and the tops have been improved so not everything is exactly the same and all of the tops used in the videos have been installed before so already stretched out so they naturally are easier to attach to the Jeep they are using in video. Printed instructions are very good. I installed mine on a abnormally warm day in April 80f + and right away I put my side windows and back window out in the sun laying them on a black tanneau cover on my truck so they would soak up maximum heat. The main part of the convertible top and framing took about 2.5 hrs to install and told my wife I was "home free" as I took a break to let windows heat up more. Installing them is where the real battle started(not as home free as I thought) side windows were hard to get fitted in the channel and only until the one side facing the sun finally went in place I couldn't get the other side in, so turned the Jeep around to have sun directly shine on it and after a short bit of time was able to get it fitted in the channel as well. SO......allow yourself plenty of time, Watch a few videos as they do help and make sure you have a SUNNY and hot day to put windows out to warm up so they will stretch and make them install easier. The fit will be tight and secure, just what you want at the end of the day. All in all a pretty easy install. Scott/Omaha.

I keep hearing 1 hour install, 1 hour install. I call complete and utter bullshit. I have a 2017 Rubicon and I can tell you the plastic bottom cover is 2 minutes, the 4 outer bumper bolts take under 5 minutes with an impact. The 4 inner bumper bolts, esp the ones on the driver side fighting with the sway bar disconnect motor. Yeah ok. You'll be working on those 4 bolts the next hour. 4 outer bolts go back just as easy. 4 inner bolts just as bad to get back tight. Absolutely no room to work up under there.

How does the front attach to the rail above the window? I had this top installed but wasn't told that it could easily be removed for the day or whatever.

there has been mention that the ARB cover has a different volume amount than the stock cover. if you want to know for sure then before putting it on the vehicle install the ARB plug and dipstick then fill it with water then measure the volume. Do the same with your stock cover then compare.

I bought one, my tire broke off in traffic and almost hurt 5 people. The bumper is good the tire holder design sucks. It’s a straight piece of steel welded on it has no angle bracket to help hold the tire on, yep just a 3/16 straight piece of steel welded on. In time with average freeway vibration, you get hairline cracks then water seeps in and it will eventually break off. All it needs to be perfect is an angle under it to help support the tire weight. You can easily weld one on but you would be responsible because you added to it. It should’ve been standard.

I have one of these, 1/2 the videos show the factory plate removed and 1/2 show it left in place. I inquired directly to the factory and never received a reply. I will tell you what I don't like, is if you remove the factory gas skid plate because it is rusted out, then when you reconnect the transfer case skid, you cannot bolt the transfer case skid to the gas skid. That leaves 1 of the 3 point connections attached to nothing. It is dumb because the fix would have been easy

Don't use 1/2 drill bit for tek screws use 1/4 drill bit the socket size is 1/2 simply a error on his part but great video overall
