Most keyboard warriors here has no idea this Toureg TDI is capable of pulling 7000+lbs. Now, at that angle during launching on a smaller SUV platform is a completely different argument. But on flat and slight grade, this TDI has no problem.

Hi, no this is a Montery 270 weekend cruiser. Overall length 29 feet. Combination weight boat and trailer was 6000kg.

@@sanderschouten9610 Het spul is meestal ook flink overbemeten. In Canada heb ik gereden met een 28 feet caravan erachter, ook iets van 6000 kg. Als je nagaat dat dat gevaarte feitelijk aan 1 stalen bout hangt... maar daar is het op ontworpen.

Jp that part of Tuareg is ok otherwise had a lot of shity falures but low range transfer case and diff lock on the rear axle are a real deal and can outperform a lot of other cars

I drove 3000km with it every summer to Spain. 6000kg no problem, at first with the Touareg V8, later on with a Cayenne V8 which was much more efficient in fuel consumption.

Oulik die Swellendam.! Nooit gedroom daar is so baie water in so 'n droege plaatz. Daar die VW lijk zo beetje lig in den broek voor so een groot schip. En ik kon geen sleephak aan die voorkant van die VW zien (nie). Waar was die bystand voertuig? Thanx 4 the video, Pope Fluk.

Ging prima, na 2 jaar de Touareg ingeruild voor een Cayenne V8 zonder low gear maar dat ging eigenlijk ook prima ondanks de 6000kg.

Yes, it is at the weight limit. In such cases it is better to let the car roll back but with the shift in D (drive), in addition to 4x4 engaged. Much tongue weight and with the inclination of the ramp dramatically reduces the effectiveness of braking by reducing the friction of the front wheels that brake 70% more than rears. On the other hand it is going down much more slowly to reduce the inertia of that heavy boat. $0.02

The VW toureg is fine for that load capacity, everyone doesnt understand what is acceptable in europe vs North america. In the states you need a 7.4L Twin Turbo Cummins Diesel to pull a double jet ski trailer. in Europe task is done by a 1.0L micro compact diesel. Joking aside, the tires probably had better days and he needs some serious trailer brakes. I have seen VW touregs tow similar size boats in and out of the water without any issues, the ramp selection needs to be cautious and ensure its a nice grade with decent cement. Unkept ramps (slime, etc) will cause issues for any vehicle but especially when getting close to the towing limits. Biggest mistake in this video is the kid walking in behind the car, that is a big no no anywhere.

WhatIThinkNation just because Europe doesnt have those big HD trucks doesn’t mean it’s safe to go 5000 pounds past the Touareg diesel’s towing capacity. Just because your car is physically able to tow something doesnt mean you should.

Just pure stupidity, the VW is the short wheelbase, it probably can do the job. That doesn't mean you put it to the limit. My 4runner v8 rated at 7400 pounds but I never tow anything over 5k. Better be safe than sorry.

That guy is very lucky, when he hit the brakes that little VW kept going backwards. Before ya buy the big boat, make sure you have a vehicle that can handle towing it

It handled it just fine, better then the Cayenne I replaced it with. Drive 3000km every summer with it for 7 years... 4 times per year putting it on and off the trailer, no problem.

Ik zeg alleen dat de Touareg DEZE combinatie van boot met trailer niet mag trekken. De eigenaar zegt nota bene zelf dat de combinatie 6000! kg weegt. Dus over inlezen gesproken, haha. De groeten.

Het ziet er wel erg groot uit achter een relatief kleine auto. En toch weegt een touareg al gauw 2800 kilo. Een beetje Dodge Ram weegt leeg ook niet veel meer geloof ik, maar het ziet er net wat verantwoorder uit doordat de wagen dan wat groter is. Beiden zouden zomaar in de meeste gevallen 3500 kg mogen kunnen trekken. Het is wel een erg steile helling.
