Southgate has to call up a left-back from somewhere now, before the tournament begins. It does not seem viable to me to start a major tournament without a recognized left=back.

We don't stand a chance. Our attacking 4 consists of Musiala, Gündogan, Wirtz and Havertz. Musiala never performed well for Germany, only has 2 goals in 27 appearances, and at the last World Cup he was very selfish with the ball. Gündogan only performs well on club level, and Wirtz has forgotten how to play football over recent matches (he got pocketed by Kaiserslautern). Havertz is good, but not a real no. 9

"Die Mannschaft" is no longer in use as a nickname. It was a stupid invention by Oliver Bierhoff and the DFB after the 2014 WC victory which was never accepted by us german football fans. We here in Germany call our national team "Die Nationalmannschaft" or "Die National-Elf"

Mbappe coming to Real Madrid can sound scary for the rest of teams, but it could actually result in a serious disruption. Today, RM is winning everything without one real star shining above the rest. Bringing Mbappe could disrupt the spirit, the atmosphere, the team. Hope not, but we'll see.

I don’t know if they’ll treat Mbappè as a super star on the same level as PSG. Vini is genuinely good enough to contend with him on the left. He might even be forced to play striker because his qualities are a mix of a ST and LW whereas Vini is purely a LW. And there are other superior talents that PSG doesn’t have (Warren-Zaïre Emery is debatable and still younger and logically not on the same level): Camavinga, Tchoumani, Arda Güler, Endrick coming soon, Rodrygo already an established top quality world-class talent, Bellingham who‘s stardom is reaching Mbappé’s levels. And Endrick who is more hyped up in Brazil than Endrick and Vinicius were, is said to be the most hyped around the level of Neymar. The truth is, at RM Mbappé is comparatively just the best. The best, but on the same stage as the rest.

Arguably the biggest impact on the team has come from the Stuttgart players as well as the countless new faces that have gotten the chance to play for germany. It had been a massive problem for years that player's were never chosen based on their performance and rather their name and reputation. Thankfully, Nagelsman has changed that. That as well as a brilliant social media campaign and fantastic set of kits has elevated the Hype for the tournament among the Germany footballing community to a level not seen in years.

neuer is not a world class goal keeper anymore if we would the best perfoming goal keeper would start MATS or Olvier Baumann should . Germany haven played amazing but there is a pretty simple reason why germany still has a pretty decent shot at winning this. No top team seems in great shape. the best 2 teams by squad France and England both showd underwhelming performances leading into this event. so did italy or Spain. Ter Stegen has played a lot worse since his Back A surgery and is behind Neuer again. Neuer has an Aura and a Position feared in all of Europe, he is much more Intimidating to be the Titan that Benches other Great Keepers despite being 38yrs old. Neuer will have his last big Tournament and rightfully so as best German Goalkeeper atm

He prevented 4,1 Goals in the UCL if we take away the mistake vs Madrid And against Hoffenheim he had just -0,2xG Prevented despite making 2 big errors, he makes World Class saves and has played a Good Season and exceptional Season in the UCL. We can also compare the Mistakes of MAtS with Neuer Misplaced Passes: Neuer: 9 MAtS: 24 Errors Leading to Goal: Neuer: 2 MAtS: 5 Shot Percentage saved: Neuer: 74% MAtS: 69% (Baumann 67% btw) Saying Neuer shouldn't be furst choice keeper is just Anti-Neuer bias because he's Older than the Average Keeper. But we should accept the fact that the Best Goalkeeper of All Time is still a great keeper even at 38.

Generally speaking, I don't have a good feeling about the Euros. Füllkrug played really well as number 9 in the CL final yesterday; add Wirtz, Musiala and Havertz in the attack and you can tear apart any defense on the planet.

Very much will depend on how Germany perform in their first match against Scotland. Until prior to 2018 Germany, in all of their history, had lost their first tournament match on only one occasion (1982). In 2018, 2021 and 2022, they lost their opener each and every time, which of course put a lot of pressure on the team right from the start. If they manage to beat Scotland in some style, then there is a good chance that we will see the "real" Germany this time. Make no mistake, this is a team full of Champions League winners, former World Champions and promising talent. And in my personal opinion, they weren't so bad in 2022, either. They had played only one bad second half against Japan, the rest was more than okay. They just had this incredible bad luck that even five goals against Costa Rica wouldn't be enough to advance to the next round because Spain had previously put in seven against the same opponent.

Southgate is tactically inept. He is outhought by superior managers who have far less in terms of ability on the pitch. Some of his decisions like allowing Modric the freedom of the whole pitch lost us that one when we were a superior team. Then he did it again with Verratti duh We will not win a tournament with Southgate Now if Pep was in charge we would probably have won both those tournaments and the one coming up What a waste

Even tho Germany hasnt done too well the past few tournaments, something tells me they are the absolute favorites this time. Not only is Germany the most successful country in europe, but is also the only country in the world that has dominated every single tournament they have participated in till 2014. Theres no other country in the world that has more world cup final appearances, euro final appearances or even 3rd places in one of these both major tournaments, than Germany has. And now that they have the home advantage and so much quality on the pitch, I really believe they might run trough this tournament like they are playing against some u17 teams, with all due respect to the other teams. But obviously everything is possible in football

I think you are overestimating the impact of the past. Three of these four World championships don't matter anymore for todays team. That said I am excited about this team, as well. Most players are very new and are not part of the catastrophy of the last 8-10 years.

@@joze838 Exactly. The great era and the little downfall of Germany were both in the past and dont really matter anymore. But looking at the history, it is more likely for a country like Germany to bounce back from a catastrophy, than continuing the bad run. I think a country that has dominated the world and especially europe for almost a whole century, wont underperform much longer than a decade. Now that Germany has confidently beat 2 of the absolute favorites of this tournament, in the most recent friendlies, the players will participate with a lot more confidence I believe. And I know a lot of people say, oh its just a friendly, it doesnt really matter. But look at the france squad, its arguably the most stacked squad in the world, and they were playing their A team, and every single player in the squad knows how big the competition for every single position in the squad is, so every Player from france definitely gave their all considering that it was one of the last matches before the tournament, and the last chance to safe their spot in the starting 11. And yet Germany totally dominated, and also took a confident win against the netherlands, who are also super stacked.

Great video. In my opinion you forgot to mention the Stuttgart players. Stuttgart played an incredible season, but are always in the shadows of brilliant Leverkusen . Mittelstädt for example is unbelievable and solves the long-term problem of Germany on the Left-Back position. The other players like Undav, Anton and Führich are also in an brilliant form and therefore are good players for our bench. I have a great hope that this tournament will see the comeback of Germany as a great football host and nation. ❤

There’s a lot of bias surrounding players who play for a top 6 team in the premier league and Jordan Pickford is a prime example of this. The only reason why there was a conversation about whether or not he was good enough to be England’s number one goalkeeper was because people don’t watch games outside of the traditional big 6 teams in the premier league since he plays for Everton. Do I think he’s a world class goalkeeper no, but overall in major tournaments he has performed well in an England shirt and also he’s coming off the back of a season where he had the 2nd most clean sheets in the premier league while playing on a weaker team. With Aaron Ramsdale barely getting any game time for Arsenal and Nick Pope has been injured as well, Pickford is England’s undisputed number one goalkeeper for them at the EUROs.

Ok, with a strong attack and a below par defense there is only one way to play, High Press. These players should be well familiar with the tactics as most of them do it for their clubs anyway. Force the opponents to go long and relieve pressure on the defense as most work are done at opponents half. If they do this, they have one hand on the trophy already.

We won’t it win for a few reasons, 1. Muguire. 2. Pickford. 3. Southgate’s negativity. 4. Southgate’s only attacking tactic of trying to work a scoring opportunity for Harry Kane. 5 & perhaps the most obvious in that we won’t beat France,Portugal,Spain or Germany. Other than that out in the quarters 1-2.
