@FilipNGS No it does not clean off hard growth or "Shark skin" type growth. But it is good for heavy algae and most sailboat surfaces. It does take some getting used to but after some use it's great. I advise going with the #3 brush and learning to apply appropriate pressure.

This is the only wat yo clean hulls. It might cost you $1800 but it will pay for its self in just a few weeks. On average it takes us 1/3 to 1/2 the time it took us to do a hull by hand.

Nice to see this. I recognize that spot anywhere. I've been working there for about 5 years (it'll be 5 this November), first as an exhibit guide, now as Animal Husbandry in the Australia section. Still, I have interest in so many areas that make up the National Aquarium, including the Acrylic used. I'm currently trying to learn more about all the properties of it and why it is the favored material for the tanks. Just trying to fill in some gaps in my knowledge of structural engineering. I still probably need to find information, given the popularity of using Acrylic for a number of reasons, like strength, weight, cost, flexibility, and UV resistance. I also wonder what is done, on the maintenance front, to handle any issues of Salt water? Or is it such a slow factor that it requires no fast short-term remedy, outside some simple regular maintenance thing?

I am a professional hull diver. I just bought one of these this past season and love it. This is great on all waterlines and most surfaces for sailboats. Lowcountry Underwater Services located in Beaufort SC. Come see us if y'all are ever in the area. I love the channel ♥️

Way over engineered. I run a dive/hull cleaning service spent a lot of money on 2 units with all the brushes and they spent more time in for repairs than underboats doing what they are supposed to. Simon was very helpful and customer service is excellent but definitely not a product i would recommend. I actually have 2 refurbished units simon sent to me that have never been used and are headed for the trash because i refuse to sell something so unreliable. Do yourself a favor and get a ryobi power scrubber. I wish simon and remora the best, but until their product is recalled and completely re-done i can not give them another dollar.

How does it do against hard growth?
@RemoraMarine6 жыл бұрын
Sean, the Remora Solo comes with a variety of brushes, which currently clean algae but are not designed to clean barnacles. We are currently testing a hybrid brush that cleans both, and we're hoping to have it available in Q3 of 2018. Feel free to contact us by email at [email protected] or [email protected]

do you do clear canopys? I have a 1/4 scale F-86 turbine jet that needs a canopy the jet has been out of production for many years and can not get one. I have made a plug but having trouble finding some one to make one.
@Zniper1758 жыл бұрын
I'm liking the design thinking of doing something similar. Perhaps make another oven compartment that slides out of the way for even heating. When you're heating any kind of clear plastic you have to let it bake for an extended amount of time to get the moisture out, causes bubbles.

Dear Mr. Remora, Greetings from Gabriel, you have simplified the art of thermoforming. have you formed negative moulds in this machine ? please share your experiences. Grateful if you can share the plan.
@simonsmith10508 жыл бұрын
I have formed many different types of female-molded parts. It requires a smooth finish on the mold and strategically placed and sized vacuum holes in the female mold. Thanks for watching.

@RemoraMarine9 жыл бұрын
austin kelly Yes I made it. Steel frame for the machine, 120 Gallon vacuum tank, an old two cylinder compressor pump plumbed with the vacuum intake to the exhaust on the pump. The pump will make ~28"Hg but I usually form at around 27" Hg. Heater is coiled ni-chrome wire in 5 zones, heater controls for each zone. Clamp frame from angle iron with over center clamps and expanded metal to grip the plastic with 4-bar link rods to allow the clamp frame to move from the oven to the platen. 2'X4' sheet size. Thanks for asking

RemoraMarine I don't even drink beer in the winter, the glass bottle just made me thirsty. hahahaha There's just nothing like a cold glass old school bottle is all. I just don't like cans and plastic bottles much, thankfully in the last year or so, my area has been bringing glass bottles back into the stores. :)

FaF, thanks. I love flying this thing. Smooth, surprisingly fast and not very aerobatic. 30 year old Japanese bearings and it still takes 10+ seconds for the rotor head to spool down after landing and shut down! 60+ flights since the e-conversion and still going strong.
