At 65 having only recently been able to acknowledge to myself that I'm gay and made a total mess of not only mine, but also my ex wife and childrens' lives, I've been desperately scanning the landscape to find someone who can help me find meaning and purpose and your podcast has hosted many impactful people but today Kevin has touched the core of what I feel might be the insights that I need to flesh out. Thank you Brett for your sincere love and care for our beautifully diverse community

Thanks so much for your sweet words! I am so proud of you and I just bet that Kevin is proud of you too. It takes tremendous courage to do what you've done! And even if it feels like you've made a mess of things, there's little so big that love can't fix. And now that you're loving more and more of yourself each day, you'll be loving your friends and family all that much more better as well. In the meantime, we're cheering you on the whole way! Lots of love, Britt

Tyler needs to come to North Jersey as a gay guy before talking about how "if someone likes you enough, they will come to you". The vast majority of gay male NYC's don't leave their own backyards and I am tired for looking for the unicorn who understands fairness and respect. Tyler - You have an open invite to live with me for the weekend to expand your POV.

Is there someplace similar in the UK where an introverted fragile gay guy can explore some of the things this guy is talking about.

In my experience love and happiness is no better with being married or single for that matter. I don't think you can treat or throw love like a blanket, and expect it to keep everyone warm. I agree with your guest, that being religious and spiritual are not the same. Spirituality is very accepting of your true self or any living creation as is. Religiosity does the contrary; it oppresses the true self, and denies anything different from its belief system. On a final note, Yoga was a God sent medicine, if you will, for someone dear to me who suffers from M.S. Great podcast, very enlightening!!!

I love how the mainstream gay mentality sugar coats and ignores the real issues of relationships and dating of gay men in real life. I was blessed to have a well balanced group of people who supported and also gave me guidance when I first came out. My mother, primarily, was the one who taught and always reminded me of my self worth. She was the most influential role model of the self respect and moral values, that literally saved me from the malignancies that plagued gays of my generation growing up. I am from the eighties generation. My mother never imposed her religious beliefs on me and my siblings; nor I ever heard anything negative about gays in my household when growing up, or till this day! contrary, my mother and siblings get really excited when I meet someone. I don't date someone to avoid loneliness; I already have plenty of good people in my life that fills that void. That doesn't mean I don't value someone's companionship; I love being in a relationship as much as being single. I never suffered from anxiety, insecurities, drug or alcohol addictions, or even became promiscuous; as way to deal with my sexual identity, as most of my gay friends of my generation did. I am a deeply spiritual, non religious, and emotionally grounded person; and while that sounds good; to me it feels more like a curse, and even make me feel like an outsider within my own gay circle of friends. And on a final note; superficiality, sex obsession, and lack of self respect within my gay social circle is a huge turn off for me. These are all real life issues that are often swept on the rug by the mainstream gay community. Thank you for the podcast; I really enjoyed it!

I stopped identifying as Bi in 2018 because I hated the look on people's faces when I came out. Then as a self-proclaimed "Gay" guy I would get really upset when an attractive woman walked by as if she was making/forcing me to be drawn towards her. So yes, Im a Bi male and Im okay with it. Finally at 50

I'm so sorry that happened to you! It's so awful how we have treated bi folks over the decades, and how we continue to erase so many bi identities still. But I'm really glad to hear you've accepted your identity and found peace. :-)

I would just like to say it is totes norms to have your wedding completely preplanned groomzilla syle regardless of whom you are dating or how long you've been dating them. Mine is a Paula Abdul theme: Bachelor party to My Love Is For Real, down the aisle to Will You Marry Me, couples dance to Rush Rush & last dance to Promise of a New Day. & whomever happens to be that lucky guy...can get with the program or they can kick rocks! & tell them on the 1st date that's how it's gonna be cause if they can't hang: NEXT!

Why interviewing a straight man on a queer channel about issues that affect our community? Edit: By the way, most coaches are bigots and misogynists

Re text messaging confusion. Don't text! Get on the fucking phone and express yourself, your needs, desires and boundaries. If the other guy will not talk on the phone, they are not right for you. Period.

This conversation is why white gay men are literally a danger to the LGBTQ community. Once they got gay marriage they are very willing to throw the rest of the community under the bus. Republicans are literally banning drag queens, gender affirming care across multiple states, the Supreme Court legalized LGBTQ discrimination and here you are talking about building bridges with literal bigots. Ridiculous
