I also purchased it and this Action panel saved me a lot of time. Thank you. Please make more videos 🙏 Could you also make a video on how export all those spot colors to the Illustrator, and then manipulate it there.....❤

Question; how does your action determine the number of color separations? Like is the action set to output a maximum number of separation channels (i.e. 8 or some other number), or does the action output whatever number of channels it determines is best based on the color info in the image? Thx!

One question how do you merge registration marks to all images. And does it seperate spot color images
@PromoWeapon2 ай бұрын
@@dboys100 So once you have your registration marks and your color name text layer, after you duplicate them for each color, you can select registration, color name, and image layers and ctrl/cmd + e to merge them. You would just do that for each set of registration, color name, and image layers, then all you would be left with in your layers panel are your image layers, only they would have the registration and color name on them. That make sense? As far as specific spot colors instead of using the default colors. Just do this after you make your initial separations: Click back on your RGB channels, go to select color range, choose the color you want to separate from the image with the color picker, make sure invert is checked if it's not already, then click the channel from selection button at the bottom of the channels panel, deselect (Ctrl+D). Double click the new Alpha channel and tick spot color, Name it spot whatever, choose 25% opacity and that's it, You have a new spot channel with the specific color you wanted. If you want, I use Teamviewer to remote in for one-on-one help with this, but I charge for it. Let me know. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by, without the white transparent part? This one for example is already halftoned and ready to print, so you'd just print the film just like you'd print anything normally, without going through the rip.

Instead of working with your element pack directly, you can open a new tab in your browser, and go to canva from that and create a new project. Then you can just hop between tabs to copy and paste elements into your new design.

@PromoWeapon11 ай бұрын
Hey @carlfoston. Thanks for the comment. I've kind of switched gears and I'm not really doing color seps much anymore as there are programs out there that automate the process very well. I'm steering more toward content creation; not just for screen printing but other things as well. That said, what would you like to see on this channel as I pivot a little?
@carlfoston11 ай бұрын
Curious to know which programs that you know can automate the process to a standard that will always be good enough for printing.
@PromoWeapon11 ай бұрын
@@carlfoston The 2 top dogs that have been in the industry for a while and continue to dominate are Separation Studio and Ultra Seps. Both are capable of out putting print ready seps. That said, there will sometimes be the need to tweak a channel or two regardless. Thanks.

Thanks for the helpful video! I was wondering, why did you use the 22.5 angle for each channel/color layer? I thought that each color needed a different angle (C=0, M=45,Y=0,K=75) so that the half tones blend correctly. I'm new at this so just wondering, thanks.

also wondering on this, do you have any explanation?

So you don't actually provide the printers with the PMS colors and leave it to them to pick the appropriate spot color? We can't do that where I work. Also, you don't have an underbase screen, but just a Highlight White?

Gret Video! I was just wondering about the base layer on lighter garments. Would you still use an 85% solidity or just leave out the base layer all together while printing on white/cream-colored shirts or clothing pieces? And would the other layers still be at a 15%?
@PromoWeapon Жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for watching. The base layer could be left off on white, cream, or ash gray etc. solidity is just for show on screen really. If you want to effect the amount of ink you’re putting down, use levels.
@michaelelwell2816 Жыл бұрын
@@PromoWeapon Thank you! Also, I was wondering if this color separation process would be a reasonable option using water-based inks? I've heard both spot and simulated process color separation methods are more lenient towards plastisol's.
@PromoWeapon Жыл бұрын
@@michaelelwell2816 Sure. It works. Water based inks are a little less opaque so it may take more flash/hits, especially on the underbase to get the same vivid colors.

If creating these for white tshirts a. would I start with the darkest color and B. is the 15% solidity still for white or would that instead be 85% since I'm working I guess backwards?
@PromoWeapon2 жыл бұрын
Hi Denise, keep them at 15% to 25% and adjust levels if you need to pick up more or less of a color. Dark to light is fine. Thanks.

Thanks! Very clear and concise. You mentioned needing to go to illustrator I think in the other video. What is that for? Do we need to print from illustrator once we color separate and set up for screen printing? Thank you!

If you’re converting to halftones in PS then you don’t need to print from illustrator. If you’re printing to a rip, you shouldn’t even need to convert to halftones, just grayscales.
