14 years late, but I do want to say that I think that this ending may be one of the most poignant anti-climaxes in any game. You spend this entire journey playing as three people trying to find meaning and purpose in a life that should have been forfeit, people cast out of the bounds of life and death for reasons beyond their comprehension, living with the guilt and/or trauma of their previous actions. At the end of the road is Cardinal Rowen, a mere mortal man who is breaking under the weight of a life he isn't able to live knowing the truth of Zenith, and the grief of a wife taken by a God that he cannot understand. He wants a meaningful death because he's seen past the curtain into the truth of life under a machine god, and embraced a sort of absurdist nihilism. Hence him saying "Only a hard-fought death holds the meaning that I crave." in his fight. In this final moment he is satisfied with the life he's lived, ready and willing to hand over the satisfaction of pulling the trigger to Leanne, who he's arguably wronged the most of anyone in the entire narrative, and she absolutely refuses revenge. Even when Zephyr pulls the trigger where she couldn't, God will not let him die. He is alive by a miracle that he didn't ask for, a walking corpse deprived of his only wish. He is the same as you three in this moment. That's why he stops fighting and lets everyone walk out, why he says nothing and can only look around in shock and awe. The very God that he attempted to scorn in his last hours gave him the ultimate mercy, and his ultimate condemnation. He can only wonder what it means, the same as everything else in his life.

This arc is a little bit interesting. Capell wasn't as close with Sigmund thus he didn't feel the sting of death to understand it when Edward was going through the relapse. Now the roles are flipped. The strange thing about it though is that Capell's lapse should be detected by the rest of the group since this isn't their first time going through these motions. So... I'm not entirely sure with this.

And I now see that after Vic says "Look over there" at 0:41, and the scene changes to the group - Aya is missing for the first 2 frames. Kiriya, Dominica and Rico get repositioned as well. The game has a few of those moments, but overall I think the cutscenes visuals are very well done.
