I have this same problem, mounts are broken, everything works but no backlight. The prongs must be soldered? It seems like they just sit inside the pockets on the board.

@@pro_ject_l ah that makes sense, I relow xbox retimer chips with reflow Station then use bent tip on soldering iron to go over the joints. It's the same principal. Good video thanks for commenting 💚

Why did you take that chip out what was the chip? If I take that out of my ecu and put it in another ecu would my key work in the one that I put it in?

With a clamp you get bad readings. Swap only the software is the best way.

Can you fix mine. I pay good. It has BOSCH ECU. My ECU number is: 0 261 204 184/185 It’s a Audi A4 B5 1.8T 1997. I have looked around the internet like hell but can’t find any solution that I can do by my self. I reed about ECU ME7.5 but don’t know if I have ME7.5. I don’t understand smithing about this

i don't know the ecu but probably i know that the eprom needs to be unsoldered for reprogramming. I think it is best to go to the local tuner in your country. There is a lot of info on mhhauto.com/
