My favorite track from Stargate Universe. Destinys eons old mission is to perfectly voiced in this score.. Pesky humans had to mess it up though. Rest in peace Maestro 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Every 2-3 years I tend to rewatch the entirety of SG1, SGA & SGU and right now it's that time again. I just finished SGA yesterday and now started SGU again and man, this track is still so powerful! It's so freaking good! Man, I love Stargate soooo much! One of my alltime favorite franchise ever and it's such a damn shame that SGA & SGU didn't get renewed for more seasons back then...

I remember when SGU was on, and I thought the show, and music was fantastic, but the show got so much hate, and non viewership, that it went off before it could complete it's mission. Sadly this music, the Destiny, and her crew are gone forever. Thank you Mr. Goldsmith for this classic.

I am a serious sci-fi fan, of many stories that have been written, SGU has inspired me to write my own, nothing like this but intriguing as the thought process of combat as I am a combat vet (USMC). SGU is by far one of the greatest science fiction shows ever written. In several years, look for RESOLUTION OF MADNESS.

the good thing is ... the way they ended it, they could revive the story at any given point in a new series or even a movie. I'd love to see that. miss SGU very much. It was a great show in a time where series went nuts.

Anyone else notice the striking similarity between the SGU soundtrack and Alpha Wave binaural beats? It can't be a coincidence, given the over-arching plot of Universe's story being about higher consciousness and the "message in the background radiation of the universe" - otherwise referred to as the Akashic Record. Remote Viewers utilize binaural beats to shift their brain's electrical frequency into the Alpha Sinus range, as it's believed that this frequency range helps key the human mind to "distant information..." Just sayin'.

SGU is terribly underrated. I won't lie, and I'll say it had a bumpy ride, but it had so much potential. As strange as it sounds, for me it actually captured that feeling I had when I watched the Stargate movie. They had just traveled to an alien world (which they had assumed was on the other side of the universe, funny enough), and there was a haunting air of familiarity mixed in with the mystery. It obviously was the exact opposite of a return to form, yet it captured the mystery of the original movie without even following the formula of SG-1 or Atlantis (SGU "scratched an itch" that neither SG-1 nor Atlantis could, but they were damn good shows and I wouldn't give them up)

Frustrating at that. And all of Stargate with it almost. Even if we get a new show with the new acquisition, who knows if Destiny would be touched or if it would be some background elements of the getting the ship back.

This episode called "Sabotage" was actually the first of four guest appearances by Kathleen Munroe, playing the quadraplegic Dr Amanda Perry coming here to Destiny for helping with FTL drive repairs. This is the most cliché thing to say, but-not metaphorically, but *literally* I got goose bumps listening to this. This soundtrack is very original and yet respectfully captures elements of the cold dark vastness of space, that I have only really ever heard in StarCraft. The combination of irregular, somber piano playing, a sole stringed instrument (think Gustav Holst), and the ambience of stargate dialing and the living breathing systems of the antike vessel, we all grew to love… just pure genius! This series was the best and paradoxically the shortest of the stargates, because it ‘failed‘ to be like the other cheesy products that SG1 / Atlantis were. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how true art dies.

How many people would gladly buy a SG Universe soundtrack? I know I would. I cant believe it is lost sitting on a shelf somewhere. Joel Goldsmith was one of the greats.

The show was too advanced for our species mainstream viewers. Awesome show...had unlimited potential. The soundtrack by Goldsmith....what else can you say?

even till this day, people want this show to come back, and Amazon really like dragging their asses on this. they had everything they needed when Brad Wright gave them the script to continue the show, and they batted his story to the ground and now they are the enemy of the fans, because they want another kid of show to be made.
