Durchgang Promenade, Dom, Aasee, Schloss, Botanischer Garten, Kuhviertel (Kneipenszene) fehlen leider. Leider befanden sich dort zur ungünstigen Zeit einige störende Baustellen. Sonst ganz nett.

Nice to see the modern Bitburg. I lived there from 1953to 1955 on base housing.Dad was stationed at Spangdahlem AFB we Then move to the brand new housing at Spangdahlem in Summer 1955. My sister was born in Bitburg AFB hospital in 1956. I was 6yrs to 8 years old. Remember it like yesterday. Unfortunately there was a great deal of war ruins still in town. We got to know the local pharmacist and his family very well.

I was there from 80-83. Seemed much less developed. That was when Bitbuger Beer was still mostly a small local brewery. My son was born there so it holds many precious memories. Thanks for the video!

Visited Mainz in May this year, while on a Rhine cruise. Thoroughly enjoyed the old town; beautifully restored after it's WW2 destruction.

Oh je, das ist ja eine Geisterstadt. Ich schaute mir eben das Video von 1980 an als ich dort noch wohnte. Ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Ist ja alles recht sauber und neu/modern, aber leere Laeden und fast keine Menschen. Der Gang entlang der Stadtmauer hinter der Stefanskirche ist sehr schoen. Dort unten befand sich Jahrzehntelang das Standesamt und ich habe dort auch 1979 geheiratet.

Luv the video of Bitburg. I was stationed there in '82. Wasn't the streets all cobblestones before? I just remember walking the streets during winter and smelling wood burning stoves and the streets were so beautiful as were all the buildings. Thank you for the video.

Yes, the street you see from 0:20 to 0:50 had darker bricks with red colored bricks as borders. They started the reconstruction in the middle of 2017 and finished in late 2018 with some complicarions. I'm living here my whole life, 27 years almost, and seen some good and Bad changes to the City.
