I wonder if modern day pinball machines still have that loud wooden "Knock" when you win a free game? Probably did away with it when digital games came along.
@bitchinpinball Жыл бұрын
The knocker sound continues to be a traditional feature in games. Most (not all) new games produce the sound digitally now, but you can typically add an aftermarket physical knocker mech as well if desired.

Please stop moving the camera all over the place. It’s impossible to follow the game properly as making a seasick. The ball is big and silver. We can see it so if you just hold the camera showing the play board without moving it just show the whole play board like they do in the professional pinball videos. It’ll be a whole lot better, because this way when you don’t move fast enough if you miss some of the action or if you’re showing the back glass while something great is happening we don’t get to see it we don’t need to see the black glass except for at the end of the game or between balls but definitely not the ball and play please

It's by far the "best pinball" to play , fast, amazing sounds, a bit difficult shoots but with tons of flow. Indiana Jones, Godzilla and Iron Maiden premium, Lord of the rings will never sell mines.

Great game! Challenging table with the order of the pop bumpers to be made and that center kick out hole is a great feature. The kind of table that's always fun to play.

Admittedly not the best gameplay, but I figured it was good enough for a demo. I've had 10 additional years of practice since making this video and ... unfortunately, I'm still not a great player. I have fun though and that's what counts! 🙂

I used to play the Slick Chick at the corner store. I could beat most of the neighborhood boys at age 7. I loved that machine. It was the best. I could pop free games back to back. My father didn’t like me to play but I would sneak around the corner until he cam to get the evening paper and make me go home. Those were some of the best days.

Was this a predecessor to Big Shot?
@bitchinpinball2 жыл бұрын
Yes technically (only by a month), but like Stern Pinball today typically produces games in 3 separate levels, Gottlieb typically made different variations of the same game - single player replay & add-a-ball; and 2-player & 4-player multiplayer versions. In this case, Pro Pool was released in Dec 1973 slightly after Hot Shot (2-player) and just before Big Shot (4-player).

I remember the replay versions of this game, and I remember them well, because it seemed like they were designed to be fast drain. Ball after ball, hit a target or two and then straight down the middle, again and again. Like there was a big magnet under the middle of the playfield

I'd like to correct a comment you made, This is NOT the only single player version. There is one more it's called "PLAY POOL" same add a ball table slightly different backglass, same side art. Machine was an Italian made Gottlieb. I know because I have one.

You are correct - thanks. I should have qualified my statement by stating Pro Pool was the only single player version manufactured (and therefore much more available) for North America.

I have this same machine as well. Great game! I have replaced all of the rubber bumpers & I replaced the old ball with a new one. It has much better action now but yours seems to be quite a bit faster. I bought a bottle of table wax And I plan on spending some time working it into the playing surface. Unfortunately, I recently broke the playing field glass and none of the local class shops carry the 3/16 inch thick laminated glass, only 1/4". There are few places on line that carry the correct the glass cut to size but it's kind of pricey. I may have no other options however. What a joy it is to hear those chimes! My chimes have not worked since I bought this 15 years ago. I was looking at the schematic just last week and plan on troubleshooting that problem soon. Thanks for posting!
