Hi China Fetching, can you please do a video on the Chinese surname, He 何? It is also a common surname in HK, SG, Macao and of course, China, ranked no. 17 most common or biggest in China. You have covered my friend's surname Liu and Zhang. There is an ancestral temple for this surname in Shawan like the Chen Academy in Guangdong. Please cover surname He soon. Appreciate it 🙏🏻

I also got the Wang in my surname. And our clan is named and know as Gimwanghu, mean's Kings of that particular field/space. Our morung elder's (last head hunters) told to us, that we got separated during building the Great Wall of china.We got Chen,Chi&Shangnyu village's etc etc... In neighbouring village's too. I am a strong Man. Coz to be strong is the only choice in the rural village's of northeast India. Most of the People of China might not know that. To be strong is the only choice for northeast rural village's of India. But Xi Jinping And the armies of China knows as far as we know. I almost shed tears when I was listening to Miya Wang-it's you song of a Chinese singer. Even though I am physically,mentally,emotionally STRONG.

My Most Honorable China Fetching, First “like” and “first comment,” I am honored! I have developed a deep affection for Chinese culture and history, though I must admit my first love is for Nippon, especially in the Edo period, where most of my temporal incarnations have previously occurred… This time out, I am born into the barbarian USA, which I know China believes “shows promise,” but which I only dubiously hope will endure, as it is only honorable to love one’s country of birth, and I pray to my beloved deities, including the Amida Buddha of the Western Paradise, that it will survive to earn as much respect as the world can furnish it over time… Would that this rather mongrel nation would teach Chinese, or Indian, or African, or more than cursory European, or even our own (!) history, but we’ve worked all day, and “Rome” still isn’t finished… But I have in the last few years attempted to remediate that error on my own behalf, and I wish I could communicate to my semi-literate countrymen the subtle nuances of such things as the “Warring States Period,” and the “Spring And Autumn Period”… where I did live in other times, it comes back to me now! We’re I younger, and my brain would still accept information willingly, I would love to try to learn Chinese, but that ship has sailed for this incarnation! Still, I rejoice in the wisdom of the Master Kong, and Lao Xi, and the ballsy “hut-spa” of the Empress Dowager Cixi during the Century of Humiliation totally trips my trigger, and I can say things like… “Those whom heaven helps we call the sons of heaven. They do not learn this by learning. They do not work it by working. They do not reason it by using reason. To let understanding stop at what cannot be understood is a high attainment. Those who cannot do it will be destroyed on the lathe of heaven.” - Chuang Xi: XXIII Again, I am greatly honored to have primacy on your wonderful and informative post… - Namaste! Glenn Jones (USA)

Hello China Fetching! Let me begin by wishing you a peaceful and auspicious Winter Festival! May all be well with China and the world that surrounds it… I am delighted and also fascinated by the name of your platform, “China Fetching”… In English, “fetching,” or “to fetch,” has a number of rather indistinct and overlapping meanings, but among them are, “to get” (or to “go get”), “to chase” (as in a dog “fetching” a stick), and sometimes it can even “sort of” mean difficult to apprehend, as in, “The story was rather far fetched,” although perhaps one of the best is that when a woman is attractive she will often be described as, “fetching” although usually with the prefatory word very, or rather… Anyway, so I take your name as possibly meaning “China Getting (or in the west “Getting China” would be the preferred Western serving, we seem to prefer the verb before the noun), so “Getting China,” or more properly “understanding China”…all very positive and to the good! But my secret favorite will always be, China the gorgeously attractive nation (the Chang e’ on Earth!) and the history and fascinating names that we find in her… - Namaste! Glenn Jones (USA)

And yet the AI couldn’t pronounce it correctly…. 👎🏽
@janmcleod67277 күн бұрын
Yes, I find it utterly infuriating !! Better to pay a human to say it properly -- or to train the AI ? And infinitely more courteous to your viewers who genuinely want to learn it correctly , wouldn't you think? It is even disrespectful to your own work of researching the relevant information !

why is sun wu called sun tzu in the west?
@chinafetchingАй бұрын
Sun Wu is called Sun Tzu in the West because 'Tzu' (子) is an honorific meaning 'Master.' The name was popularized through older Romanization systems and early translations of The Art of War.
