i bought mine 10 years ago, 3 out of those it was broken and abandoned. It has gone through 2 engines and 3 transmissions, but it has been driving flawlessly for the last 3 or 4 years, so while I disagree with your opening premise, the truth is that I love the car. I loved it since it came out, had posters and toy cars of it, and it does not disappoint as a fun cruiser. It gets so many looks, but mine is modified, lowered on coilovers and riding Advan wheels

I have been fortunate enough although short to be able to drive the M12 GTO, and man what a car. Was working in a house down the street and one pulled out of the driveway, we heard it start up first then looked out of the window, thought it was a Porsche at first and he took of, my helper and good friend that worked with me and we are both avid sports car guys said, when he comes back I'm going to go look at it, and we did. The Guy was super nice telling us all about it then said, you wanna go for a ride, uhhh yeah, then took us one at a time of course, pulls up to a stop sign, you want to drive it, don't have to ask me twice lol, only got to drive it about three miles and wasn't able to really get on it much plus I respect others cars and especially when I don't know the car, how it handles under power and braking, I like to get to know it before really getting into the meat and potatoes so to speak. I now have a big turbo straight piped Cobalt SS pushing around 380HP on 93 with just the basic supporting mods for the turbo, charge pipes, intake and bigger intercooler and it's a beast in it's own right, lowered with only springs, not too low though but enough to feel the bumps. I know that NOBLE IS A BEAST and with 500 HP, JEEZ,,,if I had one and of COURSE the money and blew that motor and this may sound stupid to most if not all your followers, is I'd take a built ECHOTECH motor like the one in my car and swap it, I have to say and THIS IS from experience, the ECHOTECH motors make a huge amount of power with very little mods, and could easily make 500 HP on 93 with a ZFR 7163 turbo and the sound they make like mine is pretty INCREDIBLE, fairly docile when just driving around but let that turbo spool up and IT'S GAME ON, for a four cylinder it's got a sound all it's own, not ricy but a much deeper tone, PLUS it would save even more weight on the car that weighs what 2400 LBS, that's crazy. There's only a couple of videos that gives you an IDEA of what they sound like and they barely do it justice. Ever since we drove that car of course we've always wanted one and like you it's not about the name brand because I could care less about name brands although very cool BUT THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE, PLUS I like simple, I I once had a Datsun 280z that had no ABS or power steering, I like simple analog gauges, everything simple as possible, no distractions. Anyways love the video, brings back memories, hopefully you'll do more on this car, Stay safe and God bless.

I turned 40... and bought one a month later. Used to big power RWD cars... never had midengined before. The extra rotation feel in the corners took some getting used to. While it is slower than my daily car, it is far more fun and lower legal speeds. The BMW daily only gets fun at speeds that aren't really acceptable.

I miss my 89 supercharged MR2. It was slightly modified and I was considering doing a 3S-GTE swap or a twincharger system but it ended up going to a new home. I'm considering getting another MR2. A MKI, MKII, or maybe a Spyder... after watching a bunch of videos of modified Spyders, some with 500+ HP, they definitely gained my interest! I love middle-engined cars, including the Pantera, Ultima GTR/RS, but the MR2s are more within what I want to spend on another toy. The Noble you had (which got me into checking out your channel) was pretty amazing! Why did you get rid of it? Just looking for the next project to work on?
@feathersandtarmac6456 Жыл бұрын
Nice I had the noble for years and spend a lot of money on it, the thing with small British sports car companies is that after buying a noble/Ultima/lotus you have to get used to either working on it yourself or paying for recovery’s and paying mechanic’s who want silly money to work on them so in the end the reliability was the issue I broke the noble more times than I remember, after owning a e92 m3 which was heavily modified it was very reliable and after having owned many British sports cars I got sick of the maintenance so now I’m going mainly Japanese or German

2ZZ is very nice into the MR-S, and provide great feelings. But it lacks of real punch. I put MWR rods and 10.5:1 Mahle piston set, and I'm currrently installing a Rotrex C30-94 supercharger for a 400bhp power target. I hope it will change my 'ricer' for a supercar :)

I briefly piloted a 1ZZ with a Rotrex (cant remember the exact one but it was one of smaller ones), it had only around 200hp but it was a BLAST. The firewall had a latch cut for ease of access to the supercharger and other intake-side bits, and the BOV was looking directly at the driver through that hatch, the noises were absurd.... Bottom end was stock and didn't last, I was not careful and let it push around 12psi. First engine went due to a violent hydrolock bending a rod (air to water intercooler failure), on the next engine the rods came out through the block to say hello. Still, was beyond fun, launched like nothing else, drifting it was a nail biting experience. This car is a pure gem and I'm happy it's unknown; I'm sure in the future I'll prepare one for fun, there's nothing comparable for similar money.
@kaziofr Жыл бұрын
@@Mexerxes I think that my 10:5 2ZZ N/A was about 180BHP. It was fun, but il will be awesome with the supercharger. I broke the stock 1ZZ engine, and also the first 2ZZ swap from MagEngines. That's why I decided to put forged rods and pistons. I also changed the oil pan to a Moroso. Sorry for the "Hydrolock" :S I have put a big air-air intercooler with 2 fans. I just need to install the GReedy FV2 BoV and then the ECU !

BUt next year i will have to get one for sure. 2zz swap. Coils, wheels and semi track setup for it. Loads of fun for half the price of boxter or similiar cars. Miatas are all rusted out or drifted to death at this point. This looks like bargain fun.
