So you are my storm sister. My fascination has came from fear. I used to be phobia afraid of thunderstorms. Upon meeting my husband I was finally able to work through those and now get excited about them. I've watch so many tornado videos on youtube and would love to ride along with a storm chaser. I still have the need to feel safe but I'd LOVE to be where I can see one in the distance.

"real freaks" huh? Yeah, I can agree with that. Much like you I started off scared of storms as a little kid and all of the adults would mess with me about it. That turned into an obsession by the time I was a teen. Being from ne Ohio we don't get a lot of tornadoes but at 16 I started going after anything that was in the area. Then I ended up stationed in North Carolina and had the opportunity to enjoy quite a few hurricanes and tropical storms. These days I will chase if something is near me but this sounds like something that could be a great refresher and learning experience as well.

How exciting! I signed up right away. I have so many questions for y'all. I started last year(sort of) by reporting on the ground what happened after the fact in Greenfield and Valley View. Trying to actually "level up" this year to chasing with a storm chase tour or mentorship.

I was 7 years old at the time. We lived in Erlanger Ky, and my dad worked at The Greater Cincinnati airport, and we lived 10 minutes from the airport. Dad told us he saw the start of a tornado. That when we were on spring break, I do believe.

So excited about this! I've been wanting to get into storm chasing for a while now, and didn't know where to start, so this is an amazing opportunity to learn how to chase safely when the opportunity presents itself

The only thing that is deadliest then this is the Galveston tornado, the death count for it is a estimate to 8,000 or 12,000

April 27th was something else. My aunts house was obliterated by this tornado and had she been in it she would have died, there was maybe two walls still standing. My dad worked as a deputy at the time and he won't speak about the things he saw that day. I lived about 30 miles away, but I remember looking into the sky and seeing shingles dancing in the air from one of the multiple tornadoes southwest of us. Power was out for a week. It felt apocalyptic.

Been interested in hurricanes and tornadoes since I was a kid mostly since I heard about Greensburg when I was little. I hopefully along with good friends of mine be out chasing in 2026. And I've signed up for the Storm chaser coaching.
