Bosu, why did your individual percentages sum up to more than 100%?
@MSurveyPoint
@MSurveyPoint Ай бұрын
@@Data4Transformation In multiple response questions, total number of responses will mostly be more than the total number of respondents since each respondent could select more than one response item. So sum of percentages (of the number of respondents) will be more than 100% Others however, often mistakenly divide by the total number of responses and get 100% which they go further to wrongly interpret the results. For example saying 20% of the respondents.... when the percentage is not based on the number of respondents. So, the earlier is the correct way to treat multiple response questions.

The dialog box that appear for you option to select how you what you want to do with the data from power query edit will only appear if you did select "close and load" option when loading your data from the power query editor. Can you check if you did have a column named ID in your survey data? The ID column can be any column that column with entries that uniquely identifies each respondent or data entry in your data like telephone number, student Id number, survey submission Id, etc. You can use any similar column in your data that uniquely identifies each respondent. If not captured, you can add this manually in excel (insert column in your data table and number each row from 1, 2, ...n) or in power query using the Index feature from 1,... (Add column>>Index column....)

can I do chi square of this multiple response survey data ??
@MSurveyPoint
@MSurveyPoint 4 ай бұрын
Yes. However, here the standard Chi-Square test is not appropriate since there is within group dependency as respondents had the option to select more than one item in each of the multiple response questions. Marginal Chi-Square test is recommended in this case.

Is there a way to use a slicer with this method?
@MSurveyPoint
@MSurveyPoint 4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can apply slicers to the analysis table. Click anywhere in the table: Under the Pivotable Analyze table at the top.... Select Insert Slicer... Select the Unpivoted Data table.... Check the respective variable (like age group, gender, region, etc) for your Slicer and Okay. If you have other pivot tables created from your main Data Table in the model... Insert the Slicer from that... Then establish relationship or connect that table to the Unpivoted Data Table using the ID column.

Could you check if the new data is showing in your source data table in power Bi? before the duplicated table. If it is showing, you may consider unpivoting directly in that table. Maybe the duplicated table is not calling the new data from the updated source data table

Entries in the ID column are unique identifiers for each respondent in your survey. Could be autogenerated by the survey platform, contact numbers of respondents, student/staff Id, etc. If you do not already have such a column in your data, you can add a custom column in your data (before Loading to power query): 1. Insert a column in your data table. Usually should be first or second column. Ensure that column is your table with features of a table. 2. Number you respondents starting from 1, 2 , 3.....n. If you already generated pivot table. You can Refresh All to get the Id in your data model. Then you can use the column in your analysis as in video Alternatively, use the custom column Id feature in power query to do that; ideally before unpivoting

@MSurveyPoint
@MSurveyPoint 6 ай бұрын
Agreed, I mentioned it in the video. You can first split into columns, then unpivot. But that will also still give you multiple rows. That is why we count by Distinct. Unfortunately, I am yet to find any better & efficient way to go about this without getting multiple rows. For some reason, the multiple rows have nearly no impact on analysis as far as you count by Distinct. I am curious to know why stacking the data doesn't work for you.

@@Hussainiat_news__Channel I understand your concern. But since you are adding to data model, the data will be stored in power query. Power query can handle as many rows there are unlike excel spreadsheet which has 1m rows limitation. Only the speed of the data processing may be affected subject to your PC's capability. Thanks for the feedback. Happy to know this helped. There are always more than one way to represent data, depending on the story you want to communicate with the data. And the format of the final output of your analysis/report: word, PPT, infographic, dashboard, etc. For percentages like we have in the video, and which part of the scale is most important to you; other considerations are 1. Table: well formated, sorted or key numbers highlighted. etc. as 2. Conditional formatting, highlighting high & low scoring. 3. Single column bar chart , focusing on the top 2 scores( Etc.

You can apply the same approach. But here, One way is to: >>Select the set of statements for topic 1 and unpivot like in this video. You can name the attribute column as Topic 1_statements. >>In the same table, select the set of statements for topic 2 and do the same >>Repeat for the rest of the topics you have. Caution: Your model could be come bigger with this approach (number of rows could run into millions because of the several unpivoting) Alternatively, >Duplicate your data for each of the topics >>Then apply the previous steps for each separately. >>You may name each table for example _Topic 1_Company culture >>Afterwards you the load all the tables into your data model. And proceed with your visualization like in the video. I hope this helps. Do remember to subscribe to support my channel

I finally found someone who in very clear manner illustrated this concept. My Question: What approach would you use to predict Customers who would return, I know there is a term for that analysis but cant seem to remember now. Ps: I sent you an email a while ago. Cheers
@MSurveyPoint
@MSurveyPoint 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Ideally, the surveys alone only help you understand & estimate customer attitudes and their likely behaviours this could influence (E.g. A customer who feel you care about them vs competition could be more likely to repurchase or recommend others to you). To some extent surveys can help you estimate the proportion of your customers who feel positively about your brand and their intention to repurchase, However, their action to actual repurchase in the future could change and is driven by so many factors - including past purchase patterns & behaviours. So to effectively predict who would return and who is likely to churn, you will need to consolidate the survey data with the Operational data of your customers (like past purchases, amount, frequency of purchases,....etc. that) 1. Then build a model using these covariables to predict the retention probability of each customer. Note: Not all your customers will ever share their feedback. So you will need to apply the appropriate missing data approach for those who do that have survey data points. 2. Or do cohort/cluster analysis that help you identify the common behaviours of customer who are likely to return or churn. 3. Using this insights you can then tailor communications or target the right customers with the appropriate messaging or resolve the issues that could be driving their decision to churn...... and maintain what is driving retention behaviours Lastly as new customer data come in and more customer data gather, you can keep updating the model accordingly as it trained on additional data
