I won't lie the thought of tomorrow is making me quite emotional. I've only been going Bromley matches the past 16 years, so I don't remember a few of the earlier divisions, but I definitely remember the Conference South, and the spell in the National League. I've had to get all my Bromley shirts, scarfs and hats out today, just to put into context how much Bromley have changed in the short time, and how close we really are to the Football League. I'm so nervous for tommorow, but come on Bromley!

I think Solihull players will be more worried about picking up an injury as they have another final in 6 days
@FromBromleyWithLoveАй бұрын
I dunno. Arguably this is the much bigger game

I'm hoping that the thought that if they blow this one they've got a second chance next week will be in their minds; for us it's today or nothing. Come on you Ravens!

Depends what team turns up:- Will it be the team that played against Chesterfield at home and the 2nd half against Altrincham Or the team that turned up at Eastleigh

Time will tell. Albeit Eastleigh was a rare exception in a season of only 9 defeats

I might not go as extreme as the previous poster but I'm not sure I hold the importance of getting clean sheets in quite the same manner as AW does right now at this stage of the season.. When we're on winless runs like we are right now the thing we just need to do is get over the line and add 3 points to the board. The longer that goes on the more of a psychological problem it will become. I may be being fececious when i say this (however bear in mind Woodman said he'd put out a side which could keep a clean sheet, not win a game), but say, hypothetically, we draw our next 3 games 0-0 to Aveley (PK shootout going either way), Chesterfield and Daggers, but then lose 1-0 to Eastleigh. Would that be seen as an overall positive because we kept 3 CS's in 4 games? Or would that be another 3 league games without a win? I think i'd take a scrappy 2-1 like we did against Southend which kickstarted our season right now and worry about the defensive side later all day long..
@FromBromleyWithLove4 ай бұрын
I take keeping clean sheets as a euphemism for become hard to beat.

What a negative coach....I'd rather win 2 -1, 3-1, 3-2 etc than keep a 'clean sheet' and draw nil nil. Emphasis is all wrong Bromley won't get promoted with this turnip in charge. Credit to Hartlepool they came to win the football match and did!

If we had lost to Maidenhead rather then Fylde would people be saying the same and would we be looking at it as let’s go back to basics or is it the recent draws followed by the loss at Fylde ?
@FromBromleyWithLove4 ай бұрын
I think the fact Barnet and Solihull both lost - albeit against different level of opponents just shows where the seasons is at, at this moment in time
@brendanbuckingham67574 ай бұрын
For me the concern is not the loss - but the subtle change in mentality since Xmas. Of course we may loose a game or two - and we may see some determination when we go behind but what is different for me is that we go behind too easily, early (concentration) and we do not seem to have the killer instinct to put teams away (not necessarily score wise but choking the other team for the rest of the match), you can see it when we do have momentum ( sitting back and loss of concentration ). It's as if we lack the belief that we are 2nd and that the layers have picked up a fan mentality that we are punching above out weight (imposter syndrome ). For me we are not punching - we have a great side, need some reinforcements, but what team doesn't and we are where we should be, but if we are to get the end result we need we need to be mentally bomb proof. Would love to know what Woodman is doing about that.

and Vennings looked very strong v. Fylde!
@isafowler54274 ай бұрын
agree about Dej and Chin... also Miller is really really good. We saw him in person when we flew over for the Boreham Wood away match in November. Agree with mostly EVERYTHING you write and say! Must mean we're both brilliant!
@isafowler54274 ай бұрын
I'm trying to be sanguine too! I'm genuinely NOT worried at all or a fair-weather supporter so to speak. Losses happen, undefeated records are made to be broken. I am very very proud of the boys. I feel they play better football than most teams they've played against this whole season. Just know Woodman will make a few creative tweaks. And we've got some players coming back into the squad. In America, we have Monday morning Quarterbacks! I think we were all Sunday Pub pundits following the loss. 2 draws and a loss will hopefully inspire the boys to fly and play "their" style of football with pride, resilience, and STRENGTH!

Something to consider is that if we do get to the trophy final and we do risk our end of season form. How badly will that affect us in the playoffs. Hitting peak form at the right time is essential for a playoff push but is it possible to maintain our current form going into a final and a playoff push ?
@FromBromleyWithLove4 ай бұрын
Wrexham of course before they went up lost both the playoff semi final and the FA Trophy final to us
