Both Bol and McLaughlin are clearly tinkering and waking up in first races of the season. Neither 52.70 or 53.07 are anywhere close to OG form. For a gold it will probably be necessary to run at a 51 low or a 50 high, which is still quite a step away from current times (for both). So for all the premature "analists": if you knew anything about running you would know that it is way to early in the season to draw any conclusions. And by the way: last year Bol opened in 53.12. So even while this race was not fast yet, it was already faster than last years opener.

😂😂😂 Sydney Crushes Femke Bol at Olympics by 1.73 seconds and 30 meters. Femke choked and fades to 3rd. Every time they race . . . same result. Sydney McLaughlin crushes Femke Bok by 20 meters or more.

@@stephen9324 To begin with congratulations for the beautifull Gold + WR of your heroine! And also props to Anna Cockrell who ran a great race to go below the 52 for the first time in her life, with that 51.87. But then I must dissappoint you. Femke was actually well on her way closing the gap to Sydney. Only 0.3 difference before this race. But Femke had overloaded her plate... Singlehandedly running down the American Mixed relay team in a 47.93 and then trying to keep up with a 50.37 a few days later from a well rested Sydney mcLaughlin is too much, even for Femke Bol. She felt that and tried to overcompensate and failed.. I don't say that Femke would have won if she had not done that (probably not), but in that case she would at least have run a good race with a new PB like the others, something like 50.80 or so (as many analists predicted). But anyway: congratulations with the great win of McLaughlin!

Looking good at this stage, also given the competition. She runs faster when pushed by other sprinters a la McLaughlin. Hoping they both stay healthy, peak at the Olympics, & push each other to break the world record. Can't wait!

@@diekstra897 Sydney McLaughlin 4x400m 2nd leg split = 47.71 Femke Bol’s 4x400m mixed anchor leg split = 48.00 Both were FULL efforts = in open 400m Sydney is .3 sec faster than Femke Bol. In 400M hurdles Sydney dominates Femke Bol. In open 400M . . . they are much closer. Perhaps Femke Bol should consider open 400M.

@@stephen9324 Yes, probably. Do you think Bol started too fast in 400m hurdles or something else?
@stephen9324
@stephen9324 Ай бұрын
@@diekstra897 She started too fast. You could see it. She was almost even with Sydney through hurdle 5 . . . by hurdle 7 she was “locking up” her form fell apart and she struggled the last 100M in a way that is VERY UNCHARACTERISTIC for Femke Bol (compare her last 100M in mixed 4x400). Optimally she probably should have “ran her race” like she did when she ran her PR of 50.95. It seemed apparent she “had a plan” to “go with Sydney from the start.” Speed is not Femke Bol’s strength. It is Sydney’s strength. Stamina and excellent form are Femke’s strengths. By going with Sydney from the start Femke was running “Sydney’s race” not Femke’s race. If you watch how Femke Bol ran her anchor leg in women’s 4x400 Femke “ran her race.” She got the baton in 4th. But she DID NOT try and sprint past those ahead on that first turn. Instead she got into her rhythm and ran with confidence that she had way more closing stamina. And . . . not surprisingly she easily ran down and passed 2 to take Silver. Had Femke Bol run “her race” in the 400m hurdles instead of trying to sprint hard the first 200 with Sydney I 100% believe she would have easily taken Silver and almost certain improved her PR of 50.95. She never could have beat Sydney McLaughlin that day. But she should have had silver and a PR. (50.80 ish ???). In post race interviews she specifically mentioned she experienced a build up in lactic acid in a way that was not normal for her. This is because she went way too hard that first 200. What she did in both the mixed and women’s 4x400 was super impressive. I greatly admire Femke Bol and love to watch her run. She is a phenomenal athlete. She made a mistake in the 400mh by not “running her race” and going out too hard.

Femke or Sidney they can not compete on both races ( 400 m and 400 m/h) on Paris because it will be too many races and they will not get full recovery from one race to another. If they do their marks will not be their best

It wasn't about setting a time, but about executing the race well. She did. It's a season opener, and everything went well. She won clearly, and her 53.07 is close enough to SML's 52.7, considering it's Stockholm vs. Atlanta. These were both test drives. The European championship and the Paris Olympics are FB's targets.

very very bad sign for Bol---the time is extremely bad however you look at it for Bol----- ---She has been running hurdles continuously for the past 2yrs since Sydney left and yet, Fenke couldn't break 52 seconds-------Well, Bol enjoys taking silver anyway-----She will wear it proudly in Paris.
