A modified downdraft carburettor has been added' this car does not have the original Johnson updraft.

Do you use Omega pistons when doing early post war rebuilds? Sounds really smooth

Absolutely fantastic. Nothing better than a Roller 6 cylinder at idle. I'm the caretaker of a 59 Bentley S1 and I'd be interested in comparing notes on setting the idle if you are willing to discuss.

Two points: Why have you used that ghastly yellow striped HT lead? You have wired the ballast resistor out of circuit but appear to be using an old-style low voltage coil.

A lot of people use this color for English veteran and vintage cars and it will be a modern coil fitted inside the Bakelite shell

Why not buy an old coil and have it rewound? Spark performance is always better from a ballast coil.
