❤❤❤❤ thank you! Ive been trying to paint dark skin tones with vibrancy, im gonna watch this about 300 times when my next batch of paper arrives in two days! (Im working on hotpressed paper, and am against using earth colors at this time.) Your painting is lovely, your message and delivery is superb! ❤

@@digitalrevolve when painting dark skinned beauties. Do you limit the yellow significantly? I am using a primary set of new gamboge. Quin coral. And phthalate blue green shade. I painted layers and layers limiting yellow. But seemed to have almost no glow, so I added yellow, and sadly, it drastically altered the picture...now she looks like a tanned Caucasian person. .any ideas why? (My children are mixed race,.im white- not a living person nearby to study.- nope, not even dad- single momma here) Highlights, underpainting tones. Sorry, this got heavy. . But want my children to fe3l proud of their attributes.

@@robinhuizing4406 Of course, I understand it can be challenging, I practice by making charts, layering washes a light glazing and drying in-between each layer and use it as reference and practice. I have used yellow in my first wash, but very very watery and thin, I let it completely dry.I like to add it around places where the brightest light is hitting the face, around the highlights. After that I won't use it again on its own. And it seems to pop through, I also limit the layers in those areas. It can be very tricky and a skintone colour chart is very helpful. Try charting the warm, cool and neutral areas of their beautiful skin complexion using those transparent shades.I hope that helps.

@@digitalrevolve yes, thank you for confirming my experience, as it's all about perception which isn't absolute. I will work on making accurate studies, experimenting with the layering process you described! ❤️❤️❤️ have a blessed day!
