Hi! For y = 2x your y intercept is 0, so your line with go through the origin. Then your slope is 2 or you can think of it as 2/1. So start at the origin and go up 2 and to the right 1 and make a dot. You can do this several times. You can also start from the origin and go down 2 left 1. Connect the dots and that’s your line!

Good question! They’re asymptotes. Vertical asymptotes occur where there would be a zero in the denominator. Horizontal asymptotes are a bit different.
