You're welcome and I'm so glad you took the time to comment to share how this helped you. Once again this year it started growing upwards. We either choose branches to bend down and tie them so they harden like its weeping or cut it off. Seems to be working so far.

I did not know the answer, but an internet search says "Yes, all parts of the Delphinium grandiflorum 'Blue Butterfly' plant are poisonous to cats and can cause harm if eaten. Contact with the foliage can also irritate the skin and eyes." Take care of your cat!

@@4dojo We have snow here in Missouri too. And ice as well. Now if they start growing too soon and then you have a snow, that might get them, but that would get most any annual flower. You could save some seeds and then plant them after the last frost date.

@@SpruceDodger I have some purple ones too that are taller. Black Adder. Made a video last year. Thanks for your kind words. Yes I have New England Asters. I think I did that video last year. I just finished cutting them way back yesterday. I will let them go now and they should bloom this Autumn. They do take some maintenance trimming them back all year to keep them from sprawling everywhere. So I only have one patch. They need to be cut back all year like mums do otherwise they will bloom too early.
@PeggyMillsАй бұрын
What time of year do you transplant?
@MyCornerOnlineАй бұрын
Hi Peggy. These are just finishing blooming here in Missouri. They are different than other bulbs in reverse with foliage coming first. Now is actually a good time to transplant them because you can see where the bulbs are in the ground. After the stem is cut down you have nothing to show where they are in the ground. Do NOT transplant them after the foliage comes up in the Spring. That foliage needs to die back so the nutrients go into the bulb so that they can bloom later in the summer. So anytime between after blooming and when the foliage comes up next Spring is an okay time to transplant them.
