Didn't know about EDC till now, wow. Well, when I'm not working, I have a small but plentyful backpack containing a battery pack, disinfectant (I use it before eating) and some tissues most of the time. Sometimes I also throw in a water bottle as well. In my pockets I carry my keys, my phone along with the headphones and my wallet.

Hey man, that's an amazing video! Congrats!!!! Just one little adjustment: I really recommend reducing the background music a little. At the end of the video, I couldn't even listen to you. Regarding to the topic, I'm trying to reduce my digital life too... Unfortunately I'm very disorganized and the PARA method helped me a lot. Thanks
@drew-alexander16 күн бұрын
Glad the PARA method has helped you get organized! And in regards to the audio, I mentioned it below, but I'm going to work on lowering it for future videos 🙂
@TheCreateOutdoors17 күн бұрын
I'm a huge proponent for the PARA method. It makes it so much easier to organize everything. I'd say my biggest problem right now is that I have been addicted to saving things. Screenshotting things on Instagram, saving countless posts on Pinterest, starting yet another playlist on KZbin for that one topic I had interest in for a week. After I do all this though, I never look at them again almost ever. It's like I am addicted to the action of saving, but don't have a real reason to do so.
@drew-alexander17 күн бұрын
I most definitely have that problem with my iCloud Photos. If I'm scrolling and see something I'm interested in, or want to (potentially) reference later, I'll screenshot it. And like clockwork, I never look at it again lol.

That was my issue with Tiago’s PARA and CODE approach… they favor accumulation first, then slow and random distillation. Rather, I found the LYT approach not only more manageable but created better thinking and understanding of the content I chose to accumulate.

I'm considering giving it a try for my internal storage on my laptop. I'm not quite at the point where I think I'd need it on my externals, mostly cause they're just full of video projects as an archive, but I do at least have those organized!

This is pretty much the approach that I take. I let things go absolutely crazy for a while - then completely empty it out like every month or so. This is a stark contrast to my email inbox.

I think you could have spent a little more time on cleaning up your computer in this video. BUT - there are DOZENS of those videos out there. If you're someone who struggles with a messy desktop or email inbox you should totally seek those out! But of course your video was awesome, too, Drew! Keep up the good work!

I think there are creators in this space who have definitely covered the computer clean up & declutter aspect, or at least the mechanics of it. And truth be told, there's still a few "problem areas" on my computer, but the bulk of it follows the same format as the one I mentioned in this video. Hopefully once I've had more time to actually organize and structure those remaining areas I'll be able to return to this topic for a video :) Appreciate your feedback!!

I'm Alexandra, 25, work as a barista. My essentials are obviously my smartphone, keys, cardholder. Also I bring with me my swiss army knife, very handy in different situations. A foldable tote bag. It is light and no need to buy a bag for groceries which I tend to go buy after work. I usually also carry a water bottle and a pair of new contacts just in case.

Good morning, Drew. As an old man, I see young people like you, and I'm given hope for this world's future. You're a man I'd be proud to call my son. Keep up the good work! Some points to your video. 1. You're smart in seeing that overspending is just folly. It's something I struggle with and I'd wager many people in our society, specifically our own country, battle with. As you mentioned, social media TARGETS our desires and even lies to us, telling us that we "need" things we really don't. I'd recommend checking out some books written by Dave Ramsey. He is a Christian author, but I know many people, regardless of their faith, have gone to him seeking financial freedom. May be worth looking at some of his videos, too. 2. Cherishing our loved ones. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Seems to me she raised a good son. I'll pray that you find solace. You mention taking care of yourself physically and mentally. I'd just like to contribute that we should also take care of ourselves spiritually. For me, as I grew stronger in my faith, many of the issues you mentioned in this video seemed to be handled easier for me. Of course, YMMV. I hope you have a great weekend, friend, and I look forward to your next video! Sorry for the lengthy response. :)

Thanks for the support! Happy to talk about my weight loss, and I intend to make a more in depth video about my struggles & what I learned along the way, buuut - my weight loss was done through CICO (calories in, calories out) tracking. So, I weigh all my food & track the calories on everything. I eat really anything I want & am not living on salads 24x7, but I try to control how much I'm eating & nowadays I do eat healthier. I go the gym 3x a week, though I didn't when I did the majority of my weight loss. It's relatively new to me!

I have tried boxier and loser fits, but as someone who is relatively short (5’7 in shoes) it doesn’t really do me any favors in the “look a little taller” department lol. I also think slimmer, more fitted cuts tend to be a bit more timeless.

Last month I went thru my clothes and got rid of lots and lots. I also had bought some new clothes(not as many as I deaccesioned) and found that I was going toward simpler cuts, less color and patterns. In a way, I'm looking to dress more in a monchromatic colorway. I don't know that I am a minimalist, but clothing is part of an apartment wide declutter I tackled first.

Keeping my wardrobe simple has really helped eliminate clutter first thing in the morning, which was important for me. It's also a lot easier to style my clothing because almost everything goes together now.
