"Amazing grace" is one of the few Destiny's Child (DC4) songs where we can clearly and distinctly hear the voices of LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, because, unfortunately, in almost all the group's official songs and live concerts, LaTavia and LeToya have never had solo parts to sing ... For example : In the official songs on the album "The Writing's on the Wall", Letoya had no verses to sing, and I think that's a shame, because she has an interesting voice ... Matthew Knowle's management of Destiny's Child (DC4) has always been weird ...

I replay this performance so many times because the blend DC4 had was just whew and honestly I love how Kelly & Letoya's voices blend together it's like a tight hand shake with Toya on top then Kelly right beneath and of course Latavia murking that bass note at the end. DC4 had those homegrown harmonies

I will never understand why Kelly only get like two words in this song!… OK more like four words, but nonetheless she should’ve had more solos in this song.

Kelly should be happy that she at least got two words to sing, LaTavia and LeToya got nothing ... Frankly, in my humble opinion, LeToya Luckett deserved to have at least a solo part, a vers to sing in this song ...

@chadk1616 yes they would sound good. DC and Xscape harmonize similarly which is why I compared the Two down to each members part...its rare to have Lyric Sopranos (Toya and Tiny) and Contraltos (Kandi and Tavia) in one group singing an octave apart with two solid Mezzo sopranos (Bey Kelly Tocho and Tameka) with the 2 other middle parts. Love that way better than 3 part harmonies

@@betrapvideos Yep.. now that you say it when we do get a 4 member girl groups.. its really never that combo.. I love En Vogue down but 3 sopranos and 1 mezzo doesn't work for me..the group lovher based on what I could make up was the inverse with 1 soprano and 3 very different mezzos.. it work too....Cherish for me never stood out like DC4 as their voices weren't distinctive enough for me..usually siblings have the best harmonies but in this case I guess not.. its too bad the Braxton sisters didnt get to record as a four member group as they also would have had that DC4/Xscape sound

@chadk1616 right, basically those groups voices don't have enough vocal diversity. You can't have all singers have the same range in one group. They'll end up sounding like the same person. En Vogue, Cherish, Danity Kane, June's Diary are examples. Basically too many lead singers. The Clark Sisters are the rare exception to where they have vocal diversity as siblings.

Latavia - like velvet and butter, the glue of DC Letoya - like a cool glass of water, light and airy, provides the balance that should've been used more often Beyonce - V8 powerhouse engine, loud and boisterous Kelly - the commanding voice that you can hear as clear as a trumpet ....Perfect harmonies

@@3BuckHeadhat's your honest opinion about DC3? They sound okay but it always felt like they were missing somthing...Toya's parts really. Michelle did okay singing alto but it seemed like they either didn't singing Toyas soprano at all or kelly would take the part and it wouldn't sound right...also their say my name accapella changed

This will always be my favorite DC4 performance because of how awesomely they blended here. The harmony at 0:19 is top tier. The way LaTavia and LeToya curved around Kelly's sustained note is BRILLIANT especially since they'd never done it specifically like that before, to my knowledge. Awesome!

Hold up! LaTavia ending on that C#3 to the B2 during the harmony 😍. That was so full of color and depth! Her blending is so underrated, same with LeToya’s Soprano.

I think it was Beyoncé who threw them at 0:53. She added an extra run which threw them off. Kelly came in right on time because she had it rehearsed so well in her head. Latoya and Latavia being natural singers, Just didn't bother coming in because they knew it wouldn't go with timing. Beyoncé did something different than planned for Live performances and Kelly wasn't skilled enough to just go with flow. Thassit right there.

Exactly u can tell Kelly rehearsed it as letoya and latavia just knew when to come in naturally , Kelly was never really good at live performance I think she was nervous and shy where letoya and Tavia was sassy

I think it's because most of the other times they have sung this together, they all sang "I'm found" when Beyonce stopped running (like on Smart Guy, some radio show, etc.). Kelly was probably thinking album version, lol.

DC4 voices blended better because they were around each other for a long time. DC3 harmony was great too but it sounded like 3 solo artists singing at the same time.

@Likedbymany yeah mostly because Beyonce and Kelly have similar timbres...and Michelle blends well but they needed a 4th person to cut down Bey and Kelly...they both sounded like one person.
