What I wouldn't give to spend just one day with you in your studio! Your joy is so infectious and your talent so overwhelming. Could you share who makes the smaller square one you demonstrate at 2:12. You are a wonder! Greetings from New Hampshire, USA.

Thank you for your kind comment. Strangely, this rain tree does not have a makers mark on it but I believe it is distributed by Atlas Music in New York. It is quite wonderous. Since this video was made, I have the addition of a 33 minute long sounding rain tree by Schlagwerk Percussion. That is definitely the longest sounding instrument in The Collection! Thank you again.

well firstly i do listen on studio monitors [audio microscopes if you will even at the -7.8 dB of youtube compression/limiting] so i have a distinct advantage to being able to turn it up and hear the resonance. The sustain is amazing. i assisted on a recording of a guy that had a nice compiment of bowls like that. they sing like crystal, the disonance between the bowls is a wabisabi of its own, has a beauty in the imperfection and sustain. Knew a drummer who hand picked is symbols so that they were in tune with eachother, when you hit tow of them the over tone would go trough your head behind your eyes amazing, my point is imagine now picking a set of those bowls that are close enough in pitch to be in tune when struck, would have like to have heard the large low tone bowl with that heavy striker moving around the rim to bring out the resonant frequancy of the bowl... so dramatic, really beautiful sounding ... <>< J
